We are currently discussing several highly important matters. This thread will be remade once these matters are resolved. Until then, feel free to visit our website.
A two sentence explanation to keep things short:
We will host serverwide tournaments with very good monetary prizes. So far, that's the only matter that's agreed upon by all guilds. As for our other matter, it is being debated and discussed.
This might happen in a world fueled by rainbows and unicorns but not this time I think. There will always be trolls or people who dont share your views on what a mature server is, also this looks like the post where you had to sign a contract and obey by a set of vague bs rules or get kicked (oh noes the horror). The only good thing about this would be the tourneys and thats it, id gladly pk the smacktard who came up with the idea every chance I got.
Is this the same thing as the other thread with all the drama between your guild and Graviora?
Idea is a sound one, but it seems like your guild is trolling Graviora and vice versa and you all want to promote a mature atmosphere?
If I have it wrong then by all means excuse me, just going by what you all aired out on the other thread.
The drama between GM and VO isn't something that can be forgotten so easily. We're trying our best to completely avoid any type of drama whatsoever, but some members still have a bad aftertaste, since the GM was separated quite harshly. I cannot promise that all members will be completely compliant over taking out drama, but we're definitely trying, to the point where mentioning GM in a negative light, even if it's within private guild chatter, would receive a big "shut up."
I want to clarify that GM is also one of the supporters for this movement. Yes, we do have our discrepancies, but they are being resolved as quickly as possible. I don't doubt that we'll eventually be on good terms with GM in the future.
@Savagemidget
It seems you misunderstood the purpose of the alliance.
You seem to have ignored the first point that I listed.
All guilds are welcome to gank/pk/ambush anyone they want. If your mindset is "i'd glady pk the smacktard who came up with the idea every chance I got," then your PvP mindset is too easy, too soft, too boring.
Our mindset is all of us will gladly pk every single person in the entire server regardless of guild, as long as we want to spend the time to do so. Our other mindset is all of us will gladly eliminate anyone who dares to pk anyone in our guild, and we will see to their death.
You really haven't understood the point of this alliance. It's by no means a real alliance. It is merely the Jagged Coast guild community taking part in periodic tournaments.
The only "requirement" is to control your verbal chatter. In other words, tell your guildies to shut up when they're bad-mouthing other guilds. It's not that hard to stop drama. Drama will always happen but keep it within the guild, not between guilds. Other people don't need to see your private guild drama. I know it's kind of hypocritical that we're saying this, especially with our drama with GM, but that's something we want to resolve quickly, maturely, and quietly. The people in VO who commented against GM on that thread were already pulled aside and spoken to regarding guild drama.
Anyways, Savagemidget, here's the point:
Basically, this entire notion is:
"If you want to participate in a server-wide tournament that can very well showcase your guild's strength, and bring publicity to your entire guild, then make your guild behave maturely when it comes to verbal communication. If not, then you won't participate. That's all there is to it."
It's got no rules against PKing. No rules against ambushing. No rules against teaming up 50 to 1. No rules against killing someone while they're killing a bam. No rules against any of that. All it is, is make your guild behave like adults, not children.
Yes, that only happens in a fantasy world. However, the server drama will reduce drastically if they have a reason to reduce drama. "Don't cause drama, or we won't get to win those beautiful chronoscrolls that could be worth 20 thousand gold [20k is equivalent to CBT's 20mil]."
And on the side, there's also the benefit of being able to talk to guilds instantly without having to relay messages through ranks of hierarchy.
Basically, this community will be whatever you want to make it. All it is, is an attempt to control drama.
Worst case scenario is drama still happens, no one gives a s--- anymore, but we still have tournaments. I don't see what's bad about this idea. If you have a problem after reading what I just said carefully, please discuss.
I am very much in support of this movement with one exception: the battles to determine the Vanarachs. PvP is already going to be a determinant for certain territories, maybe not on release, but it is official.
There is no real way to ensure that everyone will vote the way they are supposed to. It is nice to have such an optimistic approach but there really is not concrete way to track actual votes and who casts them.
I do however like the idea of a tourney where all participating guilds of the alliance throw a share of money in to a pool and winner takes all, etc etc. or something to that effect.
I'm just trying to adopt a practical approach and imagine how things will work out.
It would still be great publicity for all guilds involved.
As more about the Vanarch system is revealed (as well as the territories) my support may change in regards to the purpose of the tourney. Since a lot is still unknown I will withhold my support.
On a lighter note it is awesome that you guys have interested a GM. That is certainly a big accomplishment.
In any case a large alliance is a good thing in my book.

So basically your only requirement is something you the founding guild can't even abide by.
I think anyone who has played mmo's understands guild drama happens. It's for some people part of the reason they play mmo's in the first place, it makes up for them not watching TNT. But if the founding guild can't even adhere to the simple guidelines they set forth, what hope is there for it to be a lasting endeavor?
Again the idea is a sound one, but the way it has thus far been executed isn't in my opinion. When you put yourself out there and set rules for an organization you have to follow yourselves and thus far you can admit your guild hasn't.
