Welcome to the beginning of the political system in TERA!

Starting today, TERA players who meet certain requirements can register as candidates for vanarch. It's not always easy to convince everyone to vote for you instead of your esteemed opponents, though, so we'd like to provide you with a place to discuss your plans, make campaign promises, and show that you are the best-suited character to become a vanarch.

Think of this thread as a televised debate. Everyone's eyes are on you and they're eager to hear what you have to say. They're all waiting for you to assure them you are their champion, and that you will work to make their lives better in TERA!

So if you are a vanarch candidate on Jagged Coast, give a short introduction of yourself and your vanarchy platform. Heck, start an actual debate if you like. Has another candidate said that good vanarchs should look after their guild first? State why you think that's a bad idea! Do you think declaring war against a smaller guild is great way to promote PvP? Make a stance! The people deserve to know what you believe in. If you aren't running this time, this is an excellent opportunity to find out about the candidate to make an informed choice!

Better yet, challenge the other candidates with your own questions! This is a public debate! Here are some sample questions you can use as a starting point for political discussion:

• What are your priorities for using policy points? Skill trainers? Specialty stores? Raise or lower tax rates first?
  
• What would be your agenda as a vanarch? How do you plan to enact this agenda? With force? With rewards? Will your guild members help with enforcement?
  
• How do you plan to receive feedback or questions on your rule?
  
• If a conflict arises between what's best for the province and what's best for your guild, what will you do?
  
• What makes you the best candidate?

I, Jagged Coasts most lovable Wolfy would like to start off this fine debate with a very serious issue

It has come to my attention that there are a few major guilds, that intend to use their vanarch privileges to cause massive griefing for low players/New players

claiming to:

- Max tax rates
- Remove necessary shops and NPCs
- Actively patrol in PK status in these areas

I strongly disagree with and refute these actions, and would like to make it aware to all of you fine ladies and gentlemen/woofs that unless we do something about having these "trollolols" in any position for power, it will make our server look like VoT 2.0

I would like you to know, that for each region, I will strongly support a fair vanarch reign, Taxes are fine, as long as vanarch points are spent and vanarch quests are being done by the vanarch in position,

Just keep in mind, no one will come to your zone if you make it asinine,

after this first election period we will definitely get a clear picture of who really means business and who is just in it for the lolz

Hello Everyone!!

The time is finally here and I would like to start off by wishing everyone the very best of luck!

Now I will cover all the things mentioned in the OP.

What are your priorities for using policy points?

My top pick is the Val Kaeli are and second is Lorcada, In these areas Specialty Shops, Trade Broker and Cleric of Restoration will be my top concern. Getting these open will be as instant as possible.

Skill trainers?

Skill trainers will be opened most likely last.

Specialty stores?

Yes, just yes. I encourage speedy groups and spare crystals, I urge people to buy the portal scrolls, appropriate buff scrolls and most importantly crystals!

Raise or lower tax rates first?

I have had a few discussions on these forums about taxes. Initially I set amounts to give a general number. My philosophy on taxes go hand in hand with who I am as a person in real life. It wasn't until an in game conversation with cuddlekin a.k.a. Cuddle that I realized this. I typically always go out of my way to help people and always have. Relating that to this game, the best way is to save them money! From this point on, Every tax rate will remain at 1% EXCEPT Flight tax, it will never go above 3%. And this fluctuation will only happen during events. Events held by Harmonium. Reason for this increase? Prizes, all money from the increase will go towards prizes for said event.

What would be your agenda as a vanarch?

As stated above Events. Also as we come closer to finishing our self made guides on many aspects of this game, I intend to open these up to anyone that may wish to see them, but, not until they are complete :)

How do you plan to enact this agenda?

It's easy to enact the agenda for events, a week or so away I will have a forums post and the occasional announcement when the event comes closer.

With force?

If something arises that requires my atttention in force, I will gather guildies and anyone in the area willing to help. Should the lands truly need to be rid of a small rebellious group of individuals, then it will. Let's all remember that 1 or 2 ganks does not merit the world in aid. We must ensure threats are real and not become world police.

With rewards?

Every event deserves a prize!

Will your guild members help with enforcement?

If asked my guild members will assist with anything. They will be instrumental in organizing and running all events!

How do you plan to receive feedback or questions on your rule?

I can be approached through any means, In game, forums, Harmonium forums or parcel post. Should you have a constructive idea or any legitimate issue you can always contact me and I will be back to you as soon as possible.

If a conflict arises between what's best for the province and what's best for your guild, what will you do?

The concerns of the province will all ways be upper most in my mind. My guild is a very well oiled machine and we work very well together. My abscense will not be a game changing event for the guild. I plan to remain fully engaged in both Harmonium and Val Kaeli.


What makes you the best candidate?

As I stated in my initial campaign post, I am honest and I pride myself on it. I will ensure I am up to date on the happenings of the server. I will communicate with the other vanarchs in hopes to keep multiple areas clean and organize larger events!


The PvP Concern, on or off?

We are on a PvP server, to turn PvP off would go against a lot of peoples reasons for joining. Therefore, it is my stance that PvP will never be turned off. Should camping happen I would like to think that a certain chain of events would happen. 1. Ask your guild/friends. 2. Ask in area (most ppl love to stop the PK'ers) 3. Ask me. At this point I will go above and beyond to assemble people from my guild and my alliances. The threat will be dealt with :)
