My question is this, and its one I would really, really like to see answered. I see almost every candidate offering a 1% tax and all vendors turned on, along with things like contests, etc. with substantial gold prizes.
However, most will remember that in order to keep all vendors enabled.. there is a SUBSTANTIAL upkeep cost - far beyond what a 1% tax would provide. Trying to make up the difference from ones own pockets would result in a treasury that is bled dry in record time, with nothing left over for the promised activities, much less keeping vendors open for any substantial amount of time.
How do the 1%/all vendors on Vanarch candidates plan to handle this?
With 1% tax, it isnt a matter of if you'll have to close some vendors, but when. I can't help but feel candidates are greatly underestimating upkeep costs for their provinces, and don't have any sort of plan in place for when the money runs out due to such low taxes.
It DOES NOT cost ANY gold to maintain vendors. Vendors are put in place by vanarch points which are gained by doing quests and/or getting your guild praised. The ONLY thing taxes do is go into the pocket of the vanarch, nothing more.
Thus anyone taxing more than 1% is just being greedy.

Are you able to provide a link to the upkeep cost? I have heard many rumors about this, but no one has been able to provide me with the source. I am glad you have brought this to the attention of the candidates, if we can confirm the information, it will drastically change a few peoples stance on Taxes.

Also, I hate territ, sub territ, and TES. That is all.
You sure know how to hold a grudge, my friend. As I recall, you were farming lowbies for fun, and a few of us, myself included, expressed our distaste for that sort of thing. You ragequit the guild after that =/
And because I know what you're going to say, yes you killed me once in PvP and are therefore better than the entire Territ guild at all things PvP. Cool. Let's move on, shall we?
