You may initially be wondering why our Vanarchy thread is titled with our guild's name and not an individual’s. This is because we operate as a community and a unit; we’re merely sporting an individual candidate because it is required for the vanarchy procedures. Please, rest assured, a vote for Mayhem is not a vote for an individual with dreams of power or greed – it is a vote for our community and council. Our guild is led by a council whose members are of equal rank. The guild ownership is simply given to the most active council member until they have other matters to tend to. At that point it is passed to the next member that is sure to have the time and so on.
Reflections of Eternity, Avid, and Paradigm are working together as a coalition of guilds with similar values and goals in the effort to bring a positive gaming experience for the players on our server. Taxes in our provinces will be low, and NPC's will always be active. We feel that our three guilds have a lot to offer to the community and we urge people to support this alliance and vote for us!

Who are Reflections of Eternity?

Reflections of Eternity is a name derived from many ideals starting with the bond between our four founders. We wanted a name that was able to represent our commitment to each other, to our guild, and to our server as a whole. As we spoke more about our ideals and what we wanted to contribute to TERA, we found ourselves trying to come up with a name that fit our purpose. We came across a quote that provoked quite a bit of thought:

For those of you that have yet to meet and game with our members, we’re looking forward to it. If we secure a position as Vanarch, we hope to see you participating in the many well structured, unbiased, and fairly operated contests and tournaments we will be hosting. For those of you that have already played with us, we sincerely hope that people have had positive experiences with our members. We’re realistic enough to know that people are people, unpredictable, and we cannot control everybody all the time but we strive to uphold a polite and respectable air to our members in all areas. Hopefully, we have gained more friends than foes!
Straight to the nitty-gritty; taxes!
What we won’t give you are false promises. This is why we will not stipulate exactly what our taxes will be (should we be elected to Vanarchy) at this point in time. You may think that sounds very suspect and to be honest, if we were to take a subjective viewpoint, we’d see it the same way. So please allow us to elaborate on the “why†behind that decision. The reason we won’t stipulate now is because it is solely dependent on how popular our prospective region may become. We will keep our taxes as low as we possibly can and always strive to remain at 1%, or at the very least to be below the competition, but being realistic is being honest. As people of democratic nations, we all understand and appreciate that when it comes down to politics; honesty is preferred over empty words, right? Sure, we could say the same thing everybody else is saying, that our taxes will forever be 1% and if worse comes to worst, we’ll front all the money from our own pockets! However, we’re not going to give you any statements which we aren’t 100% confident we can live up to. While we will pool our own resources into the campaign as a council, it’s not fair for us to expect our guild members to bleed themselves dry as well.
If our region were to become the bustling metropolis which it is in our visions, then the number of events and the prize funds will need to increase accordingly. What this means is that we could potentially end up running out of resources and we won’t be able to keep our promises. Vanarchs who are offering to self-fund anything and everything people want are idealistic. While we admire their approach, we are realistic. We will not set ourselves up for failure and we will not promise what we cannot deliver. We’re setting up to provide the server with what we hope to be a flourishing province as well as a well liked, well respected, and above all else appreciated Vanarchy.
- SO THE BOTTOM LINE: Our tax brackets will adjust dependent on the cost to run the province, but it will always be fair, and it will always be for the betterment of the province. Not for the betterment of our guild!
Okay RoE, what are your policies on PVP activation and the NPCs?
- Our guild has been farming guild quests since Open Beta began. We regret to inform our NPCs that they won’t be taking any vacation EVER! What that means for the server is a reliable zone for all your shopping needs (Specialty Vendors, Trade Brokers, et cetera).
PVP will be on 24/7. That is non-negotiable; the province will be policed and protected by our members (Our guild currently hosts over 40 active level 60 members with many more on their way to joining the ranks).
We would also like to stipulate that we operate on an “all guilds are welcome policyâ€. You’re free to come hang out with us. We will hold no prejudice, apart from GvGs and Outlaws obviously. After all, it’s a public server. While we may govern the area in the record books, the province itself still belongs to the Jagged Coast community.
We will NOT become tyrannical and corrupt. A great man once said “Fear won’t test a man’s character. Give him power, and he will show you his true colors.†Well, we would like to show you our true colors, and we hope you will be pleased with them.
Okay, that’s all well and good. Your intentions sound sincere, but you’re not offering anything different than other Vanarchy candidates. So, what gives?
What we can offer are extremely well organised events and well structured tournaments. While we appreciate that everybody will be doing similar things, if we were to be modest, organisational skills are our forte. Despite NA Tera only being live for a matter of weeks, this guild has been in the making for over a year now. Our dreams, visions, and efforts have been churning the cogs behind the scenes for a much longer period of time. We know what we want to do, and we know how to get it done.
We can promise you hard work. We can promise you effort. We can promise you honesty. We are promising you equality with the ability to pitch input your opinions and ideas; for you to be a real part of the province. We are a part of the people and we would like to represent the people. This is what we will strive to deliver: a quality of life that we all deserve to enjoy.
If elected into Vanarchy, we will have designated guild representatives including our Vanarchy candidate, the Council Members, our Officers and selected Public Speakers who will be appointed to help handle our campaign. Those names will be posted on the public forums, here, for everybody to see. People will be free to contact any of those appointed members to ask any questions. That could pertain to assistance in game, advice on classes, glyph builds, or the vanarchy campaign (you could even just say 'Hey!').
So please, start voting for Reflections of Eternity (Mayhem) today! We welcome the challenge of living up to your expectations, and we will not let you down!
