This feature is quite appealing to me and I'd like to be a part of guilds that want to get involved in the political system. Seeing as the only likely candidates will be from the top guilds on the server im curious to see who gets the spot

EDGE will be pushing for this and highly involved in the political system -- Feel free to check out our recruitment thread on these forums.

Although were not quite sure how this system will work out 100% yet I'm confident that with the community on this server it will work out really well and be a lot of fun. I'm sure everyone's goal would be to achieve vanarch at one point but I'd be happy if we (Midnight Malice) had it at least once. Either way it's a very cool system that I'm looking forward too!

My community http://thecrimsonknights.com is very interested in running for Vanarch. At the start I think most guilds who put even minimal effort into trying out for Vanarch will make it due to how many territory's you can lead over.

Over time we hope to build up a good enough reputation that we stay at a Vanarch position as the server grows. A good core of us have been very active on K-Tera and think we have what it take's to to be a Vanarch guild. Even if we do not constantly hold Vanarch we hope to positively influence the server and build a great community on Jagged Coast. Look forward to playing with everyone!

Celestial Shield plans on being highly involved in Tera's political system, winning by vote would be the preferable outcome. Though taking control of a province through battlegrounds is the most likely scenario for us because we have a strong quality over quantity mind set. Check us out here http://www.celestialshield.enjin.com/new1

How do you guys plan on winning a province? battlegrounds or by popular vote?

Many guilds will not care for Vanarch, but you can count on a good amount of guilds who will run for the position.

Vanarches are decided via two different methods.

1) Fight in the battlegrounds with organized tournaments that will determine who gets what area. The up side to this is you simply need to win--if your guild is fantastic at PvP, almost no effort is needed. The down side is that it assigns you a specific area. You cannot choose, you're assigned the Vanarch based on your place in the tournament.

2) Running for Vanarch and basing the campaign on popular vote.

The problem with the first option is, as most of you know, Battlegrounds aren't even out yet. So right now, the only method of obtaining Vanarch position is campaigning.

Right now, most guilds are just guilds. We don't know much about them. We don't know for sure which guilds are best at PvP. All of them say that they're hardcore PvPers. All of them say they're dedicated and skilled. That's all talk. The only way to really put any reputation on guilds is after the game launches. As I see it, the guilds right now are all in equal standing. We'll have hierarchy soon enough. There will be tournaments that will show which guilds have strong standings. Open World PvP will show which guilds can hold their ground in unprepared situations.

Once this hierarchy is formed, people will have different perceptions of different guilds. Guild X tries to gank everyone but fails. They lose tournaments and they're bad mouthers, they're trash talkers. They get a negative reputation, no one votes for them. Guild Y goes around killing everyone. Guild Y sees a level 50 picking on a level 30, so Guild Y kills that level 50. Then, the level 30 thanks Guild Y. Guild Y then kills the level 30 because Guild Y is awesome. Guild Y wins tournaments. They get a positive reputation (even though they kill everyone, because killing everyone is the point of a PvP server), and they get votes.

I just hope they implement a system where you cannot vote for your own guild, and in order to successfully win the Vanarch position, your guild must participate in voting. I don't know how that could work perfectly, but I just hope it doesn't come down to all the guilds voting for themselves and the winning guild is the largest zerg guild.

I 100% agree with this ^

But what I also want to add is that if there was some system where you cannot vote for your own guild, it would benefit those smaller guilds who don't spam every player they see that is not in a guild. Which in tern makes the voting system a little more balanced. I hope that there is a system like this but unfortunately I do not see it happening :(

great post though.

How does campaigns compete with battleground candidates? Or each district is either campaign only or bg only?
