Well well well, it has been 10 minutes and no answer. Not a good sign at all.
As much as they want to have, you agree to the EULA before you play. They could write whatever the hell they want to in that thing pretty much(slight exaggeration).
I swear all the time IRL but really does it matter? After awhile the community to develops new slang words to use to get around filters anyway. It's amusing.
Can you be more specific about the rules? I am serious. We HAVE TO AGREE TO EULA in order to play. Do you really think anyone reads that s---t?
Every game I have played you have the OPTION of filtering it ingame. Will that be the case in TERA? God I hope so.
Have you played any beta games yet? From what I have found in-game, you can pretty much swear all you want without being censored, but they censor website URLs in chat, and random words get censored that make us scratch our heads. We are hoping they either remove the censor filter completely, or that it works better once OB starts. They did remove it in one of the closed betas, but it was back for CB4 and CB5.
I was able to be quite the pottymouth in-game. Censor gets a little weird sometimes but it's not all that bad.
Actually, many people do read the EULA and ToS. They are contracts between you and the company, you should read what you are agreeing to. Most MMOs don't allow profanity in public channels despite the existence of a filter, but I do not know whether this will be in the TERA rules yet.
These forums aren't really a guaranteed direct line with EME. You can always send support a ticket if you want to get an answer about something from them though. :)
The filter in this game is retarded, it's pretty much the only complaint I have as of right now. In beta there was no option to turn it off either.
