Are all the charaters going to be reset after April 23? Or are thay going to be there after release?

If you pre-ordered the game, you'll keep your character from open beta. If not, it'll be wiped.

I believe even if you don't pre-order your chars won't be wiped until an announcement is made by EnMasse. You should still have plenty of time to go out and buy the game after release and still have your characters from OB.

Verify this with a GM (ticket/live chat) if this is indeed what you are planning to do.

No characters are reset. No characters are being wiped from Open Beta at all. You don't need to be a preorder to keep your character from Open Beta until Launch.

But EME might wipe characters or names off accounts that never buy the game a few months down the road.

This is coming from the FAQ page of Tera, since I believe some people just say things they believe.

"Will beta characters transfer to the live service?

Characters created during the Open Beta Test will transfer to live. If you have not pre-ordered TERA you will be unable to play your character after the Beta Test concludes."

We need more people like Sneaj who relay accurate information. I already knew what he posted, but thank you for being a contributing member of the community. =)

That statement is in reference to the fact that Headstart is preorder only, and then launch. So if you aren't a preorder, you can't play past Open Beta unless you buy the game.

But your characters will still be there if you do buy it, which isn't addressed in that statement, but is what the OP was asking.
