so im currently levelling a lancer whos in the teens and just decided to sell crafting materials. I started trying to do extraction and while I have the proper extraction recipes learned Im unable to extract anything from any of the items Im finding.

do I need to extract lower level items? is there any way to farm these up because im pretty sure going back to isle of dawn due to my level i probably wont get many drops. Is this a complete waste of time at any rate, to sell the materials i extract?

Make sure you have the proper extraction tier for the item. So if you have some Tier 3 boots and want to extract leather, you will need Tier 3 Leather Extraction. But you must learn Tier 1 Leather Extraction and Tier 2 Leather Extraction first. Also, just to cover all the possible reasons why it might not be working, right-click on the extraction recipe in your inventory after you buy it to learn it. Also, the item you want to extract from will say Extractable in its description.

Don't know what are worth it, but you should mostly be good as long as you have the level of extraction or higher. I rarely fail if i try an item that is the same as my extraction level, and have never failed if it's higher than the item. Just buy an extraction scroll of the material a level higher than what you can now.

Seems people would pay more for the raw mats in my mind, as those would help them level, at least until 250. Alchemy is the one people seem to be working on the most, potions and scrolls seem to be the most useful. I'm hoarding all mats at the moment, mostly for mats for alts, either to level or gear.

ok so my problem is that I dont have the proper level extraction tier. Those scrolls are just purchased like the first ones I bought I take it?

is there level requirements to upgrading your extraction tiers or could I literally just purchased all of them and start popping them to learn up to max? (not that im going to, just trying to understand how increasing my extraction tier level works)

You can buy any and all you can afford and learn them, they do get quite pricey near the top though, so that's the thing that will hold you back if you don't have the gold. If you aren't finding the gear at a tier though as drops, it's not really worth upgrading. Say, only tier 10 is dropping for you, going to tier 13 isn't worth the expense, and most tier 13 is better used as enchanting gear anyway. in my view at least (t12 even)
