My buddy and I have taken the last year or so off from MMOs, specifically WoW, and wanted a new and immersive MMO that focuses on skill-based, action-packed combat. Combined with its beautiful graphics and controller-adaptable gameplay, Tera seems to fit the bill. We're excited to be joining soon but I had a few questions/opinions for the community as noobies to Tera.

Right now we're debating whether or not to do a pvp or pve server. What are your opinions on the pve and pvp servers on Tera? Which ones do you recommend and how similar are the pvp servers to those on WoW?

I'm also curious as to which class/race combinations players find appealing both from an aesthetic and a strategic standpoint (ex: do players enjoy Baraka as healers because of their durability) . Judging by their appearance I'm guessing that the Castanic are very popular although I'm drawn to the lore and appearance of the Aman. Any suggestions?

PvP cannot transfer to PvE Servers

PvE Servers can transfer to PvP Servers

Just make a character on each server and try it out :)

The races natural ability have little impact on game play. So you should play the one that is most aesthetically pleasing to you.

I have High Elf Lancer and Elin Berserker

Friend have Castonic Mystic and Human Priest

Another have Amani Lancer and High Elf Sorcerer

Just go with the race that you want to stare at for months on end.

pvp servers can be frustrating but for the most part im having a blast i recommend it

Thanks for the input so far. Can you flag pvp on or off on a pve server like in WoW, or are you naturally flagged for combat?

You cannot flag pvp on/off like in WoW.

You are naturally flagged for combat (sorta) on PvP servers. You can toggle "Outlaw" status to attack anyone (regardless of their flag) on PVP servers.

If you are on a PVE server and in a guild, your guild master can flag PVP for the guild and everyone in the guild becomes available to be PKed and to PK in return against other guilds (with the same flag) for 24 hours.
