It might be possible to redo your mouse keys to the wsad buttons and change some mouse buttons to function s the same, however this game will (probably) never allow you to click to move, especially when you factor in aiming. I'm assuming you're here on a buddy code in which case I can tell you now this game isn't for you. If you're bad with hand-eye coordination and managing multiple things at once this game will be nearly impossible for you. My advice is to try and get used to it, this game sort of breaks out of the "other MMORPG" crowd and you're gonna have to cope with it or move on. :\

I'm sorry, but asking for the ability to move with the mouse in this game would require an alternate program and setup. This game was designed as a "true combat" or very-near FPS type of MMO. The idea behind the mouse is to aim and click, there is no auto-targeting in this game. If they made it where you could move with your mouse then you would soon find yourself moving instead of hitting the mob you were aiming at, etc.... would be such a mess.

lol, i come from aion and i am 100% clicker there. even in a game with easy targeting like aion using your mouse to move and what-not is frowned upon, the reason i have surmised is using the keyboard gives u faster reaction times and more fluid momentum. unfortunately i am having to get used to using my keyboard from scratch so this is gonna be interesting hurrah for short fingers and short span. but being the set in the mud 40 something i am doing tera is the only way i will learn

Hmm lets see.

To the person who suggested I try battlenet actually maybe that is where YOU belong with your silly immature answer? Yes, I think so!!

Moving right along to the other 2 who suggested this game is not for me and I just must be here on a buddy code, is this the community here? If so, you guys might want to rethink that attitude as you will end up playing a very SMALL mmorpg.

To the one and only person who tried to answer me thank you very much. I appreciate the information and explanation and hopefully you are more representative of the community that will be playing this game.

As for me, just because I asked how to do this does not mean I don't know how to move with keys .

My background is from MUD's...do you know what a MUD is? You see in a MUD you use only keys, in fact, the mouse really does not exist.....and in MUD's you type each battle command including parry, draw and your various slice/jab/draw commands depending on what you are doing in the battle itself. You also hide, stalk and steal from players.

So next time before you jump on your little immature 'you are an idiot for asking such a question' bandwagon I have a great idea! How about if you take a deep breath and then think twice before posting and if we are all very lucky you just won't post at all, especially in the area where new players come to ask questions.

Again, thank you to anyone who actually tried to intelligently answer :) And Noobchanter, sounds like I have to get used to it too, after so many years away from the MUD I am unused to it now!

Thanks. (backing slowly away from the bad community)

I bought the game NOT a buddy code.

If people seemed rude to you, it's probably because the question you asked showed a compete lack of understanding for the type of game TERA is. TERA is not and will never be a point-and-click MMO, that in fact being the main reason that's it's so refreshing. TERA is an action-heavy MMO that requires manual aiming of attacks and abilities, much more like a shooter than an MMO. Asking for a point-and-click control scheme in TERA is like asking for a point-and-click control scheme for [insert popular FPS here].

I would recommend taking some time and familiarizing yourself with TERA's controls. If you simply cannot get the hang of it then, as others rather indelicately suggested, TERA simply might not be the game for you and you would be better served exploring your other MMO options.

^This^

You overreacted to the two posts and only the snarky WoW suggestion post was unwarranted. Your own reply that showed nothing but contempt for people who dare suggest you don't understand how MMOs work speak more to a poor attitude on your end than theirs.

Unfortunately, playing without WASD movement, because of how the game and the skills are set up in their use, would severely gimp you in both PvP and PvE to the point where you would probably be more of a hassle to have along than anything else.

That being said, as of now, I know of no way to make it so your mouse can move you forward, like the typical hold down both right and left mouse buttons to move forward.

You can probably buy a gaming mouse with its own key binding software and assign the keys to the mouse buttons in that way. I have such a mouse that I mapped W and S to for Final Fantasy XIV and it works great. It's a Logitec MX518.
