Hi! I'm pretty new here, not only to TERA but to the whole online games thing. Though I do play console games. I hope you don't mind helping me out?

What's the easiest and most basic class for a someone new to the whole online game thing and why? I'm open to any suggestions and answers.

I think it would depend a lot on what console games you are used to. http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/classes will give you a basic rundown of all the classes and their style of fighting. From there you can get more in depth info on any particular class by clicking on the bold blue heading of each section. FYI gamepad type controllers are supported! :) Good Luck & Happy Hunting!

I would recommend playing the classes and maybe rotate them between Plate Mail, Leather and Cloth classes. Generally those various armor sets play defensively close together. And do the Island of Dawn with them. You will get to 10-12 in about 1 1/2-2 hours depending on how fast you are going. This should give you some idea on which class you like.

I agree with Eziel. Go thru Isle of dawn with a character. Slayer and Sorceror are pretty straightforward in the beginning. I use a 360 controller while playing. Most will herp derp about using it, but it makes my time more enjoyable. First time thru isle of dawn will take a bit longer while getting used to the controls and system. Second time is about 1.5 hours. And you only have to play the prologue the very first character you create. All other characters can skip it and go straight to levellng.

OldGriff - You can logout of Prologue to character screen and then select Island of Dawn and skip it ;) I think the Prologue is very confusing.
