Every time I click launch I get a Port 10001 error, I've tried everything I can think of and spent two days dealing with customer support from my ISP, not a single response from these guys on this issue.
Is anyone else having this problem?
It is not your ISP, it is your modem as far as I can tell. You need to specify the port in your modem...call your modems tech support.
Try opening that port on your router settings (depending on your router, connect (web browser) to 192.168.o.1). There should be options to open ports....
Try googling 'open ports on 'yourrouter'' if you need details on how to do that..
Heyas. I've been getting the Error: 0111:0001 every time I try to log in (bought the game a few days ago, counting the subscribed days go by D:). Similarly, spoke to ISP and Tera customer support. noone's been able to help.
Now, I got the port open (10001)... Even if it doesn't show up on canyouseeme.org , because in Tera's diagnostic tool I get this:
google port 80 connect - 0.406 seconds
google port 443 connect - 0.297 seconds
enmasse port 80 connect - 0.609 seconds
enmasse port 443 connect - 0.360 seconds
enmasse port 10001 connect - 0.343 seconds
This means it's connected through that port, right? I dunno much about ports, but this says "connect"...
Yet, I still can't log in to the game, just the launcher. Everyone else has been having port-opening problems, but is it actually a port-opening problem?
Are you guys who are having similar problems from Australia? I found a forum thread somewhere that indicated that other people from Australia were having the same error/connection issue. Not everyone though (I know some aussies that are connecting just fine), but I'm wondering if it some how relates to Australian connection to the Tera servers in Chicago?
What do you guys think?
You may either have something already consuming port 10001, blocking it or need to setup port forwarding on your router.
#1 type ` netstat -anb ` in a cmd prompt. If you see what is taking that port, kill it.
#2 check that the game is allowed in your firewall. to much variety to be explicit here. google is your friend.
#3 google the name of your router + "port forwarding how to"
Also, maybe the game needs to be ran as an admin?
The easiest way to find out would be to hard wire your modem.
For those that travel a lot, and want to play in hotels etc.. this is an issue.
I've found that I have to log into other games while in hotels since many of the places you visit will have port 10001 blocked.
It's quite dissapointing to be left with logging into another game since the one that you want to play only allows connection through a commonly blocked port.
