I just got my first crystal last night.

I wanted to find out more before actually using it.

Once socketed can you remove the crystal without destroying it? So you can just keep recycling it as you upgrade your weapons?

How does one go about socketing and, possibly, unsocketing Crystals?

Are Crystals item specific? Armor Crytals for only armor, weapon crystals for only weapons?

Ok, Crystals freely attach an unattach to gear. You right-click them to equip them onto what you're wearing. Just make sure that you unequip them by right-clicking them off your paperdoll window before you swap out your armor or weapon they are attached to! Then equip new gear, and click them back into the new gear.

Blue crystals attach to your chestpiece, Red crystals attach to your weapon. You can only equip however many slots that piece of gear has. Most greens have 2, Blues have 3, and golds have 4. Also note that crystals have item level requirements to equip, so you can't slot a level 30 crystal on a level 10 item.


Additional note about crystals: They can break and vanish if you die. So if you're low level, slot the cheap crystals ("white" quality, can buy them off any crystal vendor).
