I'm guessing it's an extra tax because you're playing the NA version when you're in Europe. I saw someone mention something about it on the European Tera forums but I can't find it just now.

The question is, what do you prefer more? Frogster or your extra $5? If it's worth it to play En Masse instead of Frogster, pay the extra $5. If it's not worth it, play your own region's game.

In some time this game probably will be free like RIFT and whatever... and i paid this tax indeed...

This throw away all my enjoy to play Tera.

With all this i just only see future for Diablo 3 is not paid monthly and every one enjoy the game.


A) Rift is F2P up through level 20...just like WoW...if you want to play past level 20, you have to sub and pay monthly.

B) You're probably paying the VAT tax (up to 23% was the last VAT tax I saw) on top of the exchange rate...so yea, it's going to cost you more to play from Portugal.

Don't blame EME because of the tax laws and VAT taxes you have to pay.

They are only doing what they have to by law.

With all this i just only see future for Diablo 3 is not paid monthly and every one enjoy the game

You have to keep in mind Diablo has around 1/10th the content of Tera. It is pretty odd to compare MMORPG to something like diablo.

Guild War 2 is better comparison.

Well I got my recipe in the email today and was shocked to see a tax. I live in the state of oregon we don't have no stinking sales tax. Never have and never will. I'm gonna be cancelling my sub since my eq2 sub only cost me the 14.99 and thats what I intended to pay here but since they want to collect a tax for a state that doesn't tax ecept through our job then so be it.. Good to lose a player so quick

Haha I don't any extra stinking taxes! Also I would like to say that customer service with this game is top notch. Fast replies and always trying to fix whatever problem I've had. Thanks guys for a great game!

Is your Oregon address the one that's on file with EME? It's not as black and white as where you live. Is your credit card billing also in Oregon? I believe your credit card billing address is the one that determines whether you are charged tax for subs.

If your address is up to date with EME, and your credit card billing address is also Oregon, then try contacting EME. As I mentioned in this thread last month, EME can't just charge taxes on a whim. There's probably a reason it happened, and you should probably find out why (so it doesn't happen in other games if it shouldn't), rather than just taking your ball and going home.

Isn't it still cheaper to play US because of the exchange rate?
