Hey all, I'm exceedingly interested in this game, obviously, but I don't have the means to fund this AND my other games, not to mention my other MMO SWTOR.
However, I haven't given up on this yet.
Is there a chance of a 7- or 10-day free trial, or a free trial up to level 5 or 10 or what have you in the future?
Thanks for any and all answers!
p.s.: I know many of you may not like SWTOR, but I'm a huge Star Wars fans and would need a great reason to pull myself away from it--which would most likely be this. I know the two beasts are different, but I'm not willing to cancel/start anything until I can at least try this game.
I am sure over the summer there will be a free trial.
There always is. (I by no means really know its just a guess thats as good as anyones)
Don't worry about SWTOR ... most of us played WOW at one point or another ... so we have no room to point carebear fingers.
Hahaha, thanks, Snoogan. I'm glad someone has a level head ;P
And I assumed as much. I haven't seen anything of it, but all MMOs have it at some point or another.
If it helps you any, so far the game is worth the price of admission.
I too am on a limited budget and took the leap in the dark. I took advice on another board and am sticking to the central story quests, and it is definately good so far.
I have played my fair share of MMO's ... I would say this is one of the better ones so far, nothing is for everyone, but I have no complaints.
Just my two cents but lack of a trial is probably the only thing keeping me from deciding if I want to fork over the cash for the game or not. I've been burned one to many times by MMO's that have a box/subscription model to leap right in if the game looks interesting. Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Champions Online, to some extent SWTOR. A trial and/or price drop in the game's physical copy (I prefer tangible disks for quick reinstalls on my MMO's) would probably be enough to get me to peak my head in the door.
Not to mention they've got GW2 coming out this summer so right away it gains a significant foothold in my quest to find the game which will replace that WoW shaped hole in my heart I've had for the last two years. The two look amazing side by side, but as it stands GW2 carries the least investment risk for my leisure time.
So, fingers crossed there's a trial before that drops.
Free trials usually don't come out for quite a few months after a games initial release. It usually depends on how successful the game is during it's first few months. If it's dropping off rapidly, then a free trial would be soon, but if it's still selling well, then the free trial will be later. A trended decline of sales, rapid or slow and steady, is the most common incentive for a free trial to pick sales back up again. Unless you can see a graph of how well the game is doing and how many people are spending money in the cash shop, there isn't a good way to tell.
Ahhh let me get a free trial of this game... if it wasnt 50 dollars i would already have it but with guildwars 2 coming out in a month and some change i dont know weather to try this game out and stick with it or hold my cash for guildwars 2
MAKE A TRIAL QUICK!!!!
This game needs a trial. Think of the people who have the minimum pc spec requirements and would hate to spend $50 on a game that runs choppy. CanYouRunIt says I can but that has been wrong before. A taste of game play would be nice too.
