I tried and says invalid key, this seems like a step backward from other games.

anyone shed some light?

More info would probably be helpful.. Are you using a basic mouse or a gaming mouse? What buttons are you trying to bind?......

Did some key bindings on my archer to help manage poison stacks. Key binding the mouse is kind of a pain, but after some trial and error I was able to figure it out. I have a 6 button Steelseries mouse, let me know if you need some help.

Well i go to options>shortcuts and try to bind the mouse button and it says invalid :)

I would prefer to avoid having to try to use out of game software to do this but i guess its looknig like i'l have to digress 7+ years on a game that just launched and use third party software eventually.

What kind of mouse do you have?
