Player X has locked onto you... Flame Barrage hits you automatically again and again and again.

Everything else, awesome though. Lock on offensive skills that are just like the tab targeting & selection systems of old really detract from the core live action gameplay.

you can dodge flame barrage with a simple backstep before it hits you.

If you have a dodge ability with immunity frames. It always hits you.

immunity would make you invincible so it wouldnt hit you, i have had just about every class dodge it at least once by backstepping.

No, immunity only negates damage, it doesn't nullify the fact that an ability hit.

If hit while immune, the hit doesn't do anything, but it still hits. There's no actual hit detection mechanic like the line path of an arrow, arc of a sword, radius of a magma bomb ect.. There is no hit mechanic to lock on skills, they always hit, you aim over to select a target and press your fire key like every other MMO.

The lock on target thing is true, but there is something else the totaly kills the "skill-demanding" part of this game.

In the 3rd CTB, myself and a few friends are on level 25 characters and a level 27 rolls up and PKs us. We are doing crap dmg and the 27 is one or 2 hitting some of us. Come to find out that crappy gear we had from the last CBT, I think it was level 21 stuff, made it so we couldn't compete against 27's. Only 2 levels higher then ourselves.

Where I feel the game is kinda what they say it is. I think it's a lot more gear-demanding then "skill-demanding."

People will [filtered] about anything. I dont like this one aspect about lock on abilities, even though i have an ability that lets me dodge it. HARUMPH!
