Please give us a way to turn that annoying notification off :P. I don't care who enchanted gear to any level :(
Ooops, I just remembered someone saying that you can turn it off in the options. :O still tho maybe it should be changed as stated above.
Where is it!?!?
I don't remember seeing this option anywhere! I remember seeing a random checkbox with no text next to it though...
I dont remember exactly what that girl said, but i think it had to deal with your chat options/notifications. I didnt get a chance to test it myself, but i'm goin by hear say. If anyone could clarify it would be nice.
First of all, I would like to say that I have played Tera during beta and I'm seriously considering this game. I actively play two other games and I just came to Tera to try it out, was slightly disappointed at the typical mmo-grind as far as missions and quests go the way they are presented, but was seriously pleased with everything else in the game.
I have played several games (and still play some casually, aside from the two I play actively) who both have and don't have RGNs. I am glad that Tera is sticking to their PR and making this game less about gear and more about skill by removing the RGN system. Finally, if anything, the RNG system simply makes it more convenient, as I'm in high agreement with the following post:

I hope people realize you can remove downgrades, adjust the odds, and it will be still be the same "hard"ness.
Example
Old System 10% Downgrade 60% No Change 30% Upgrade
Is the same system as 0% Downgrade 80% No Change 20% Upgrade
The latter system just has less variance in small sample size (ie stuff you enchant). Overall cost would be the same in the long run (ie total gold sink from economy).
For those complaining about challenge, I would request for tougher dungeons and boss encounters. Game of chance is hardly a challenge and more about either being lucky or being wealthy. It requires time nonetheless to get the gear and +'s, whether it's 230 vs 250 hrs (or as someone stated, depending on your luck, 30hrs vs 1000 hrs [exageration]).
RGN is usually needed on F2P models to aid in keeping a revenue, but I've learned through experience that you can still make a game rewarding and gameplay engaging without having to rely on cheesy things like endless grind (even without RGN) of go kill x amount of easy things, or RGN systems. This may also promote people to enchant weapons since they don't see a risk factor (even though it may take them a long time [time is relative to people, so lay off, long time for one can be "too easy for another"]) and participate more in pvp without being at a great advantage (gear and levels do appear to have a high impact in this game as opposed to others I've played in the past, so leveling that out really leaves it to skill). I'm all for having more people come at me, and the battle actually last without me just facerolling someone!
Where I was undecided whether to stay on Tera or not, this really made my mind. I'm in here for good!
Now what I do look forward to is having a way to disable the messages about other's successful enchantments...it becomes rather annoying and disrupting after a while.
Couple of hours, couple of times a week? i really hope not, lol... If ppl that play couple hours a couple days a week what about people that play a couple of hours EVERYDAY? they run out of content?
According to the first player to reach 50 (KTera), it took him 40 hrs straight with just mob/dungeon grind, skipping all side quests and exploration, and not reading the story or mission. That means, for the average adult player (with family, job, etc--this a mature game right?), if he/she were to play everyday for at least 2 hours (psychoanalysis of someone who plays games and is not addicted averages of 2 hrs a day, though you may play 1 or none a day and several the other), it would take about 20 days. While that may seem low, I've been able to cap level on other games for an even less amount of hours, however I would still need to complete things like gear, feats, so on so forth, wherein really lied the grind. It's a really good amount of leveling, not too grindy but not a 3-day thing.
u people complaining about this?? well i DONT because its a fact that i wont loose a BUNCH of MONEY anymore....=) im happy with tis as allways en masse keep this up... and thank you for this change:D!
Enchanting your gear to +12 does not make you a hardcore player, I'm sorry. It shows no skill whatsoever, so if you think it deserves bragging rights you probably suck at everything else.
Our goal here was to keep the cost for getting these items similar but remove the frustrations that random numbers can cause and let you keep what you have already earned.
