I wonder what the 3 different powders are. If there is no success rate, does this simply mean the different colored powders are just going to up the rate of +1, or maybe restrict the color of powder to certain levels? The restriction rules seems better IMO.
It's not three different powders, it's three different tiers of powders.
The success rate (or lack of) is still there, just that if you fail +8, there's no longer a chance of weapon going to a +7. It stays +8 and you try again
I'm assuming within the 3 tiers, there will be different powders that have a better success rate than others, but will be more expensive to use
The OP implies that powders will be required for tiers of enchanting rather than reduce chance of failure.
In order to offset this change we have introduced 3 tiers of Alkahest powders: one for enchant +1 to +6, one for +7 to +9 and one for +10 to +12.
Side Note: LoL i took me like 30 minutes to attempt a post cause you were all spamming fights XD.
On Topic:
Personally I am really really really glad that this was changed. I have played 2 of the WORST rng games ever on the planet and almost broke my pc multiple times because of failing. ( Cabal Online, and Aion ) Now then I suggest you all ( hardcores ) think of this situation logically: Since you are hardcore players you can look at this situation as a job. You go to work 9 - 5. Work your [filtered] off for a month and at the end of the month you expect payment. Your boss comes up to you and says hey listen you worked really hard this month and here is your reward. He hands you 3 boxes and says your paycheck is in 1 of them. You can only choose 1. You choose a box. Congrats you just got an empty box. You say to yourself hey its ok better luck next month.
The thing you froobs need to understand is people put time into this game and expect a reward. ESPECIALLY if you pay for it. Hard work and good ole sweat pays off. Great job EME for being the first MMO game in the past few years thats made an awesome game and realizes the frustrations of being unlucky. I commend your decision here.

That's what I get for not reading it all the way through and yes, that's exactly what I was hoping the 3 powders were for. Good stuff indeed.
Nay, gambler.
Thou art the most casual of them all.
This about sums up the old enchanting, trying to get the combo of stats you wanted through identifying armor was a joke lol.
Some people told me it took them 800+ tries, those scrolls are expensive by the way, you need the fancy ones.
Now it will be less likely that the luckiest will be the first with +12, but rather the actual hardcore players, still lots of RNG involved, but less than before thats for sure.
