I cannot believe Enmasse is making this game easier and easier. I'm one of the casual players who only plays 1-2 hours a night and on weekends. This game is already easy enough and the original system for enchanting made the game last longer. I hope Enmasse realizes that they just signed themselves to a lot of complaints. No, people won't complain about making enchanting easier, because most people are lazy. However, the people who were complaining about the enchant system, are the people who likes to be handed everything and speed through the game. Enmasse is going to have to be able to pump out content like Blizzard and the content will most likely be half-assed just like in World of Warcraft.

This is extremely disappointing. The challenge of getting your weapon and armors to +12 was what made doing instances and farming BAMs worth it. Now, the RMTs will truly rule. There's no point in using green or blue items as the catalyst for your enchant now. You just have to buy cheap white weapons/armors and keep doing it since there's no penalty.

Someone said the exact same thing to me last night about just using white to + your weapon. EME said they would be implemented new dusts though, so I'm not sure if using whites for +ing at higher levels would be worth the amount of money the dusts cost. Until we know how much money these new dusts cost a lot of things are open to speculation. Hopefully Knoxxers post is right about the amount of money needed to enchant to high levels still costing a lot.

theres nothing wrong with pumping out content at the same speed as blizzard, in fact, they have it down to a science... thats why it has been the most popular mmo for 7 years.(and continues to be).

as far as your comment that farming bams and instances for +12 armor is the challenge of enchanting... lemme ask you this: which is better? farming 1000000 easy BAMS/bosses a month for gear, or farming 4 hard bosses a week for a couple of months for gear, and then having EME release some new, challenging bosses?

do i play wow anymore? NO. i quit when they started making the talent trees cookie cutter.... but that doesnt change the fact that they are the MMO to beat.

Yeah, I was jumping to conclusions. Bad night, but if they do it right, it can still be challenging. I'm just afraid the ramifications of making gold extremely important in such a direct way. Another person mentioned that +9 to +12 should require dust that only drops from end bosses in hardmode instances. If they made it drop 100% and about 5 at a time so that everyone in the party gets one, I think that would work.

well if EME is taking action to prevent going on red numbers, DO IT, i want the game alive!! i want to play it, and if making it "easier" is the way. BRIG IT ON!!

on the other hand, i love the idea of keeping what u have already earned!, u guys say they took away the risk! but.. well u can still fail and loose gold/ dust / resources / TIME, without the frustration of starting over from "0".

plus in F2P mmos there are mall items that prevent gear from loosing its enchantment level.

GOOD NEWS FOR YOU GUYS!! if the game goes F2P we wont have to worry for pay2win [filtered]s at least when it comes to enchanting.

again, Love the changes! Good Work EME

I'm all for the enchanting. It doesn't sound, to me, like anything is being made too easy by just stopping it from decreasing in level. With the unsealing... I'm not as comfortable with the ease of locking each attribute in until you can get the "perfect" ones. While I don't want the game to be totally catered to casual players I realize TERA would go under if it were catered to someone like me (why people don't want more bosses that take 4 hours to down I will never know) lol I do think this is a good compromise to try and please both sides and a decent decision. So I'm supportive of this one :3

generally speaking, when you go to vegas and you put down 100$ and you lose, they take the 100$. i dont know if i would ever come back to an establishment where if i put down 100$ i have a chance to lose 150$. this math did not make sense, that is why they made the change.

The super casuals happy about this new system are probably the same ones that are going to QQ at launch about getting ganked and other pvp related mechanics and EME will probably cave under the weight of there tears.

Do you know why the hardcore player base likes P2P games and not F2P/cash shop? There is a less of an advantage in pure p2p no cash shop influence. This might not make sense to earlier posts about the upgrade system and how its "fairer" now but that's not true. Being able to out perform in pvp pve and out luck some one in enchanting is all part of the fun. Sure you might rage failing to upgrade but when you FINALLY get it. Its amazing. I really hope EME listens to the rest of the player base and not just the casual babies that want to be spoon feed everything.

Have enchanting dust drop from dungeons/raids have it scale based on difficulty

Have a chance to drop dust from world pvp.

Some of us WANT +10/11/12 to be rare.

The game is in beta everything is subject to change. But just letting EME know that as a player right now you are making me think this game is going to go from Casual water downed wowification -> F2P Cash shop Then shortly after Pay 2 win. Trying to give you an idea of how many players feel.

I was advertised a hardcore MMO for pvpers. I dont like cookie cutter builds and weapons. I dont like no penalty from dying in pvp. A lot of us are expecting a hardcore game with many risks involved from pvp, enchanting, raids. I dont want to be spoon fed. I dont want raid over and over for that rare item just to see some one RMT one for $15 scroll..

Look at all the MMOs that launched in the past few years that caved to this new generation of MMO players. They all expect to be spoon fed because of the precedent WoW has established. How many of them have failed and are now F2P. Think about that.

Hardcore gamers will keep a game like Tera alive. Not Casuals who will jump ship once the new flavor of the month MMO comes out. (GW2 any one?)

This game is already like WoW, according to your standards.

They are both Fantasy based MMORPGs.

No difference.

Leave out the insults towards casuals and I agree with everything this guy had to say.

Im a hardcore player, and i approve of this change.
That being said, it could be made better.

@Flores: +10/11/12 could still be rare, but it doesnt have to be random. Lets say they made the hardest bosses in the game drop an item that never fails to enchant, and this boss can only be killed by the best. this would mean that the last 3 enchants would be rare, but they wouldnt be random... i think this is the direction that EME is going towards, not towards the carebears who want everything for free.

as for your chronoscroll comment, i posted before that chronoscrolls can only be used for gold as long as there is a demand for game time... that demand is maxed out at 1 per player per month.... any more than that, and there would be no reason to buy them.
