We've been working hard on bringing TERA to North America, and have also had a hand in shaping TERA specifically with our gamers in mind. This past GDC we spoke with media about what we've been working on specifically for North America, but I wanted to talk about a few changes that we’ve made:

• Removed private stores – we removed private stores from TERA so we could make the broker system the central hub of the player economy. We’ve increased the limit of items that can be sold from 8 to 50 and think this will help players to go to one place to find whatever they need

• Implemented Bind on Pickup (BoP) items – For some items, we’ve implemented a BoP system which lets us give better equipment to players without having to worry as much about RMT farming items.

• Removed Boxes of Mischief – I personally have a negative winning streak with these, and overall we felt that it was a chance based system that frustrated more players than it benefited. We removed them and used the space in the loot drop tables to chances for other cool things to drop

There are a lot more changes and enhancements that we’ve been working on, and as we get closer to our OBT and Launch we’ll keep sharing what we’re doing so y’all know what to expect and give us feedback.

Agreed. Think private stores should just be placed in other areas, small camp sites but at least x meters away or out in the open. Are Pet shops taxed by vanarch? is AH?

Do NOT remove the pet system. people that doesn't like it can turn it off from options and advertising using the pets can be prevented by other ways instead of removing the system. Limit the use of pets instead if needed.

Pet stores are ridiculous. I would bet that 90% of the pet stores were set up right next to the trade brokers. WHY?! Use the auction house! Pets are neat and I hope they keep them in game, but the store function is a performance hindrance for everyone.


edit: If items are going BOP will you lower the drop rate nerf for having higher levels in your group?

Exactly go to the options and turn them off. You do not need to click through 1000 pet shops you can see what people are selling through the shops message.

If they do not have a clear message skip it and find another shop. It is much easier to use shops this way than another.

STOP GETTING RID OF UNIQUE THINGS THAT TERA HAS THAT OTHER MMO'S DO NOT HAVE.

STOP TURNING THIS GAME INTO EVERY GAME ON THE MARKET.... WE WANT NEW THINGS LIKE PETS SHOPS LIKE OPEN PVP YOU ARE LISTENING TO THE WRONG PLAYERBASE... WE WANT NEW UNIQUE THINGS....not wow clones or other mmo clones....
