You’re proud of your characters. You want them to stand out in a crowd, and you want that top-notch weapon to stand out, too. With just a little time (or a little gold), you can change your equipment’s appearance at a remodeler or change the color of your armor with dyes.

All major cities have appearance remodelers and dye merchants, and you can make your own dyes from materials you gather. Anybody can use dyes and remodelers, and if you want a quick start on a stylish new appearance, read our full guide to remodeling and dyeing.

Handy guide, but one thing that disappoints me is that, as far as I can tell, there's some armor types that have no template available at all.

By that I don't mean you can't buy a template for it off the vendor, but there's no way to copy that armor's appearance at all. And not just different shades or colors of an existing armor, but entire armor designs.

Is there any chance that we can either get more templates on the vendor, or have more existing armors eligible as templates? As far as I know, KTera has this functionality already.

And on the same note, any chance we can keep the armor from being destroyed when it's used as a template (if it's actual armor and not just a vendor template)? I'm fine with it being soulbound and having to pay a decent gold fee every time I use it, but I'd like to be able to change my look and still have the option of going back to my previous look if it just isn't working out without having to spend an arm and a leg on crafting mats or farm the dungeon another dozen times.

Well made guide, should help those who ask a lot of questions about the dye/remodeling system, so this guide will hopefully be read often.

Problems/Issues (imo)

1) Huge problem, what Sethala said, is how not all armor models are available as templates. In particular, certain level 54/58ish (?) armor models don't have a template for level 60 armor, which made me very sad T_T

2) Another problem I have is how we can only dye ONE PART of our armor, rather limited compared to many other F2P and P2P mmos that are a few years older than this one. . .not sure what the KR devs were thinking *shrugs*

3) And finally, limiting templates to armor types/respective classes doesn't give us a lot of options. I at least wouldn't find it silly if a slayer could wear robes/plate, or a priest wearing plate/leather visual template.

4) Somewhat off-topic but I might as well add it, our under armor is the level 1/Island of dawn starter armor. I found this to be extremely ridiculous. If we had various under-armor choices, it would deepen our ability to customize the look of our characters. As it is, most of the armor in this game doesn't visually cover all of our skin, so having some under armor to add to the armor we use would give us more style options ^_^ (Ex: Stockings for female characters, bandage under-armor that covers some OR all of the male Castanic/High Elf's torso which you see in a lot of anime.) Being able to dye our under armor would also be extremely nice.

Other then the above, pretty decent system. At least we have a dye/template system available to us, despite how limited it is in terms of customization.

How about this; rather than spending time on an unnecessary guide, you give us the rest of the patch that allowed all gear to be used as templates if it was equal too or below level 58?? There are only two possibilities for why we got a large part of that patch, but not the template part. Either someone, or a group of someones, is failing at their duties, or.. someone, or a group of someones, is being a jerk, to put it nicely.

We pay a fee to play this game just like players in Korea. We shouldn't be paying for content we aren't getting. These templates are just a small part of the problem; mystery boxes, lack of eggs making repeatable quests pointless, removal of crafting quests making crafting an unnecessary pain. Where is this content that could be easily implemented or was already implemented and then taken out for no good reason? If you are going to do these things you can't just ignore us. Give us a response and not a "oh, we're working on it and will give you details when we can" response, an actual response with worthwhile information!

This isn't a F2P, this game is made of paying customers and we should be treated as such.

Tera needs more weapon models. I mean, you spent money crafting a white, then the next level, you spent more money crafting... a green...but it looks exactly the same, because it's the same level. So then 10 craft levels later, you craft... a blue, wait... it took more money to craft...didn't even change colour. Then the gold comes in and you are all, holy [filtered] expensive....must look way different. Nope.jpg.

Crafting equips is pretty useless, you get one new model (maybe) every 50 levels, and sometimes they are the same model just different colour (like the bows, lvl 52 and 54 are exactly the same model with different colour and the lvl 56... same stuff only greener...what?) So really, people craft only to get to the endgame tear of PvE equipment, meanwhile there's like 12-13 weapon skins you get by crafting when you can craft 4x that many different weapons, and that may be a generous estimate.

Imo, white/green/blue/gold should have the same skin, but different colour, and the next level weapons should have different skins. People like things when they look pretty, and this is one way to make crefting a lot more enjoyable for the casual players.... and women, because they like pretty things.
