To be honest Knoxxer, having a que at launch is the signs of a healthy server. As long as it isnt something ridiculous like 8+ hours. I think all a majority of the people are asking for is some numbers so we have an idea if our remaining members will be able to get in or not. It just allows us to gauge the chances of our entire guild making it into VoT.
For example if you tell me the current pop on VoT is 6k and you plan on increasing it to 8k come OBT / Launch it tells me I have 20 players that can possibly make it into the server because 2k slots have opened up.
The primary goal for early character creation was to balance our servers to avoid having queue's and unbalanced servers. Could we open up more slots on VoT? Sure but then you would be right back here angry at launch that there was a huge queue and that we didn't balance properly.
The secondary goal was to give you guys a chance to choose your server and name on a first come first serve basis.

I think Knoxx said they are looking into that issue and trying to resolve it.

5000 thousand players is usually the general load for servers. I would say this is a good guess since blueholes is possible renting the servers. When I worked as a contract coder for Blizzard there server loads were on average 2500 per server.
I really hope they have learned there lesion and manage their server loads better. This issue is a big grip with any fan base. Looks like the made the classic mistake; underestimates and overestimates player anticipation.
Configuring servers at first is tough. I've been there. But from I have seen they have a really good team and it should only take hours to spread the loads.

Why would creating another character on another server reserve my name on a server where my friends are playing?
You have 10 servers. Not 100, 10.
People would rather have a queue than sit on a dead server in 1 month. It's not like there aren't any other MMOs out there to do this type of investigative work.

Knoxxer, you need to open up the servers, even if they're full. Guilds are trying to get all their members on the same server. You can't expect people to make a character on another server, when there entire guild is on VOT or JC. I know you would like to see an even population on all servers, but if you have been watching the guild forums lately, you will see that guilds have chosen a server. Vot and JC are the top two pvp servers that guilds have chosen, and it isn't right to force people to a low pop server.
We are looking at the delete issue right now.
For reference Valley of Titans was more than double any server when it hit the cap. I would very much encourage you to create characters on other servers where there is still plenty of space.
