Update: Chronoscrolls are now available on the En Masse Store!

For players looking for a way to increase their pool of gold, or for players who own a surplus of gold and would like to put it to good use, TERA introduces the chronoscroll. These items bridge the gap between the real-world economy and the in-game one, giving players the flexibility of choice.

Chronoscrolls—in-game items that can be redeemed for playing time—are our way of providing a safe and legal way for players to trade game gold for game time. Players can buy chronoscrolls with real-world money, and then sell them in-game via trade brokers. Players who buy the chronoscrolls in-game can then use them to acquire playing time.

Because players are trading with one another, and not with gold farmers or other cyber-criminals, players can get what they want without risking identity theft or the dreaded ban hammer. Best of all, chronoscrolls help fight against gold farming, phishing, chat spam, and other crimes against humanity. Oh so it was the pictures fault....

While I'm excited for this addition, I'm worried that the billing/game time remaining issues of the past will resurface. Only time will tell I suppose.

Alright, so let's debate how much is a reasonable price to sell it on the broker on VoT.
I've seen many people say it should be around how much a 60 can make in a month, but is it the wise price to tag it?

I for one intend to buy one and sell it, but I have no idea to how much I should post it.

Considering the weapons skins sell right now for 1k-1.5k @ 9.99 I wouldn't pay much more then 2k for a scroll..

although considering you could make 2k gold in 2 days for something valued for 30 days?
I don't know, just seeing what would be the most decent pricing.

edit: without considering high drops from dungeons ie: high tier weapons.

You can only purchase two per week.. I expect there to be alot of competition to drive prices down quick..

Hmm I was expecting something like 10k gold at least per scrolls D:
I guess i'll step back a bit and see how it goes before buying some.
It'll be interesting to see how much people will be trying to sell them.

Price of an item fluctuates due to supply and demand. If you have a high supply and little demand you'll get a low price. If you have a low supply and low demand, you'll just simply fail. If you have a low supply and high demand, then you will have a high price.

Weapon Skins have a low demand with a high supply. Thus, they have a low price.

Chronoscrolls will have a high demand with a predictably medium-ish supply. Thus, they will have a much higher price than Weapon Skins.

And furthermore, look at the usefulness of the items..... Weapon Skins are pure cosmetic and most people don't even like these ones. So of course no one wants to spend a ridiculous amount of money on something they don't even want that bad. However, Chronoscrolls give you game time for playing, this is much more valuable than skins will ever be.
