Want an early taste of TERA's beautiful world and visceral combat? Check out this trailer of the game's all-new playable prologue. As TERA begins, the first explorers to the mysterious Island of Dawn are shipwrecked and attacked by demons the moment they land. After reaching the beach, you'll have to struggle to regroup before the demons descend upon the survivors.

I like the prologue, but can we please have the hotbars unlocked so we can put skills on the numbers we want? I found it unplayable because I'm used to skills being in certain slots so when forced to use skill X on slot X... I ended up only using 2 or 3 skills total. thanks.

I did not come across a single person who enjoyed this prologue.

Aside from not being able to move your hotbars, the final boss causing people to crash over and over, it just wasn't fun. Everything you learn to do there is learnt on the Isle of Dawn anyway.

I found that the best aspect of the prologue was the opportunity to check out a snapshot of a given class at level 20. The experience itself did not feel that it really added anything of substance beyond what you quickly learn throughout the Isle of Dawn, and I do not relish the thought of being forced to spend 10-20 minutes rushing through it with each new character. Overall, there is room for improvement, but I would really prefer if it were an optional tutorial.

Me and my wife both hate the new prologue.

Something about it just wasn't right. They really should make it optional.

I really enjoyed the prologue. I think it gave you a MUCH better understanding of Elleon and the whole story of the island. On top of this i really liked being able to experience the class at a higher level, gives you a much better feel for it to see if you will really like the class. As well, i also liked getting higher level equipment to see if you like the race/class combo you picked.

I had to do the prologue 3 times to get through it, but thats ok, it was just beta and overall i really liked it , even if it was a little confusing the first time.

If you head back to the Character selection screen after getting in the Prologue, next time you select your character it will ask if you want to do it or skip it.

I really liked the new prologue, though I hear a lot of people had issues with getting stuck at one of the cutscenes. It would have been nice if you could move skills around on your bars also. Aside from that, I felt it was a much more interesting introduction to the game world than the Island of Dawn. It actually got me curious about the story which I completely ignored on my first characters. It was also really nice to get to try out the higher level skills. I had a friend join in for OBT and he actually went through it multiple times to get an idea of which class to play.

I thought the prologue was neat. It definitely needs a bit of polish, but I like the idea.

A few suggestions:
It, like the rest of the "tutorial phase" should be very much optional (I'm looking at you Island of drab, and slumbertown.) And the bars in the prologue must, must, MUST be changable. I want punch whoever thought it was a good idea to bind retaliate to such a needed hotkey, in the throat. (SERIOUSLY?!)
Don't cut off the last boss scene when a player is CLEARLY winning (I didn't get hit once, but somehow I cut-scenically lost), that's not how "supposed-to-lose" fights are supposed to go. Either make that fight a crazed struggle, where he is just too freaking fast to avoid, or have it so that if we beat him on the first expedition, we don't have to go through the island experience to fight him again. (it wouldn't be too hard to write around that scenario)
Have you guys considered non-cutscene voice acting? It would be neat to actually HEAR chatter from the survivors as you walked around that initial beach.

I also really enjoyed the snapshot effect of being able to see a character at level 20 like a previous poster talked about. I also found getting to be a part of the first wiped out expidition to be super sad considering when you are actually on the island and find "Armor/Weapon of the First Expidition". Made it more real for me that I was picking up someone who had died on the islands tools off the mobs corpse.
On an unrelated note, I did notice that if you are wanting to roll on another server and skip the prologue, all you have to do is roll a toon, log in, log back out, create a new character and then you get the option. You don't actually have to do the prologue ever.
