Okay, I'll try once more before labeling you a troll and simply moving on.

Darkcerb on 05/05/2012, 05:54 AM
I have no idea what your point is, that a sword and shield is different to a lance and shield?

It still doesn't change the fact that which you prefer is *entirely subjective* which was my point.

Are you reading my posts?

because I don't see how that's a response to it at all.

They're different, good observation? I never claimed they weren't all I've ever claimed is which you prefer is subjective and people have every right to complain should they wish.

Seriously read my posts because atm you're having some other argument with an invisible person who's apparently insisting they're not different.
Right, troll confirmed, ignoring from now on since you apparently fail basic reading comprehension, problem solving and basic understanding of situations.

TheTraveler12 on 05/05/2012, 08:21 AM
then I would honestly rather not have them if I have no choice in what weapon skins i get.
... Really?

So, basically: "If I can't get what I want, no one should get anything!"

I make my point and you repeatedly respond with something irrelevant to it.

One of us certainly lacks basic comprehension skills.

I'll try one more time which set you prefer is entirely subjective.

If people have complaints they have every right to voice them.

Those are my points, not consistency of design as you seem to think if you'd read my thoughts on that you'd see that what I was saying was what you see as bad others see as good I'm not surprised that went over your head so there it is nice and simple for you.

Yes, again, if you read my posts a little you'd see that I never argued that fact. Which one you prefer is subjective and completely up to personal preference.

Funny part is, you still don't comprehend the simple point that I'm making, so no need to be a hypocrite and say that things are going over my head.

Let's try a few exercises, starting with bad analogies!
-I like blue; it's my favorite color.
-My GF likes green; it's her favorite color.
-Her car is old, has a number of problems and is started to near the end of it's life... and it's green.
-My car is a little younger, has only started to have some things go wrong with it and will probably still be running for a few years... but it's red.
-Whether she prefers her car over mine or I prefer mine over hers doesn't matter. It's based off of opinions.
-Regardless of the fact that her car matches her favorite color and mine doesn't match mine, you can look past that and say that, objectively, my car is in better condition.
-You are NOT saying my car is better based on that fact: you are simply stating that there are differences that are not subjective and are not based on personal preference.

Bad analogy #2:
-In playing cards, I like the suit of Clubs.
-In playing cards, a friend of mine likes the suit of Diamonds better.
-We play Poker and I get a Royal Flush of Spades and he gets a Flush of Diamonds.
-Despite the fact that I did NOT get my favorite suit and he DID get his favorite suit, which hand we prefer is subjective.
-However, keeping the above in mind, it can still be objectively observed that my hand is the better one within the game of Poker, as a Royal Flush scores higher than a normal Flush.
-At that point, my friend can love his hand of cards as much as he wants to over mine, that's something that he can't deny or argue.

Bad analogy #3:
-As far as currency, I prefer bills and my GF prefers coins.
-You give me $15.00 in bills (1x $5 and 1x $10) and give her $2.50 in coins (8x $0.25 and 5x $0.10).
-I can subjectively state that my amount is better because it's completely bills, while my GF can claim the reverse because hers are coins.
-However, I can claim that my value ($15.00) is higher then hers ($2.50) and she can claim that she has more individual currency (13 coins total) then I do (2 bills).
-Whether you think that's good or bad, it doesn't matter. They are facts that are stated and can not be argued against.

Now, where this has been going:

US (GOLDEN DRAGON) SET:
-Archer => Bow
-Berserker => Axe
-Lancer => Lance
-Mystic => Wand
-Priest => Staff
-Slayer => Sword
-Sorcerer => Disc
-Warrior => dual-Swords

EU SET:
-Archer => Bow
-Berserker => Hammer
-Lancer => Sword
-Mystic => Wand
-Priest => Staff
-Slayer => Mace
-Sorcerer => Book
-Warrior => dual-Axes

Now, let's make it easier to compare the two:

DEFAULT ===> US ===> EU
-----------------------------
Bow ===> Bow ===> Bow
Axe ===> Axe ===> Hammer
Lance ===> Lance ===> Sword
Wand ===> Wand ===> Wand
Staff ===> Staff ===> Staff
Sword ===> Sword ===> Mace
Disc ===> Disc ===> Book
Swords ===> Swords ===> Axes

Italic => same
Bold => different

As you should be able to see, but probably won't be able to, the physical style and characteristics of the weapons themselves aren't all the same for the EU weapons. Default Priest has Staff, US Priest gets Staff, EU Priest gets Staff. All the same. Default Sorcerer has Disc, US Sorc gets Disc, EU Sorc gets Book. Again, even though they are functionally THE SAME, and that some would prefer the Book while others prefer the Disc, the look, shape, form and style is something that is NOT up to opinion.

Some classes get a completely different style of weapons while some don't. It doesn't matter if you like the EU Staff because of how it looks, the fact remains that it's still a Staff while others get something completely different. Now, didn't someone state something along the lines that people treated different causes problems? Oh, wait!

Darkcerb on 05/03/2012, 10:23 AM
When two groups of consumers for the same product are treated differently people get angry!
So, it would be reasonable and fine for Archers, Priests and Mystics to be angry and complain about the EU skins then, as they would get treated differently in that case. But, can they do that for the US ones? Not directly, as they all have the same theme, same color patterns and all keep the same "standard" weapon styles.

If you still don't understand after this, then I honestly don't know what to say except maybe go out into the world and learn to be able to spot differences. Might save you one day to notice that the thing speeding towards you is a car that might kill you, rather then ponder about whether or not the potential for killing is subjective or not.

K-Tera has the gold and normal Dragon Weapons.

EU has the gold weapons and eye-patch/handkerchief stuff that's already from K-Tera.

T-Cat Coin item-mall stuff.
Posting this again: can you please give links to where it shows that kTERA already has the normal/golden Dragon weapons and that euTERA already has / will be getting the Gold Dragon weapons?

I've seen nowhere that states this.

How does any of that relate to my points?

They don't so why do you keep quoting me and beating me over the head with them.

"When two groups of consumers for the same product are treated differently people get angry!"

You don't understand that?

We get gold skins they get different skins. That's what I meant why the heck would you read any more into it then that? The product in question there was Tera the game not each individual set of skins. People who buy tera in our sphere get gold skins people who buy in other territory's get different skins.

That's all I meant with that comment, If I had wanted to bring up the fact that the eu crowd should get cheesed that some classes are getting entirely different weapons out of there skins I would have said so. I didn't.

You're reading volumes into what isn't there.

Not only did my point go over your head but when it hit the other side it started writing thesis length points that I simply wasn't making.

Which Appearance you prefer is subjective and only that at face value do you prefer blue or red kind of subjective.

On the subject of your bad analogy's you're assuming there is more value to one set of skins then the other when neither have stats or use above there appearance this is impossible sure some are entirely different weapon types but that's still visual and thus a matter of personal preference.

If people want to complain they should and I can almost guarantee company's prefer peoples complaints to there silence even the whiniest post in history will give feedback.

It baffles me that you continue to argue points I'm simply not making.

Darkcerb:You are obviously too simplistic to understand the difference then, especially how you yourself stated "When two groups of consumers for the same product are treated differently people get angry!", yet don't understand that it can be applied within the EU skins. Have fun banging the drum of "everyone should complain about everything and everyone should get what they want". I'm done with useless and pointless banter, trying to discuss obvious points with a brick wall. I'll just end it on the following:

I like the US weapons better. Others like the EU weapons better. To be angry at FREE GIFTS and demand even MORE FREE GIFTS like a self-entitled child is ridiculous. At worst, there won't be a way for either region to get the other region's weapon skins. The middle-ground will probably be a cash shop implemented that will sell the Golden Dragon, Black Dragon and Legacy weapons to everyone. At best, they'll be available in-game as part of an achievement or something that everyone can do.

So, back to trying to get some actual useful information...

Once more, does anyone have any links or posts about this?

I found posts showing the Golden Dragon weapons, the Dark Dragon weapons, the EU Masks as well as the Nightmare mount are currently or will be offered through kTERA's cash shop. However, I found no posts that stated if the EU weapon skins were currently in kTERA and, if they are, how to get them.

Also, I found no where that states that the gold weapons are in EU, but I figure this was probably a typo and that you were referring to the EU weapon skins that I am calling "Legacy" to not have to say "EU weapon skins" all the time.

Important: These skins are stuck to a single weapon, or they can overlay on all weapons?

A.e. Is it just a template, one use item.

or is it

An equip that you can overlay onto multiple weapons?

From what I've read they go into the second tab of the Character window that's meant for cosmetic items. Which, from how it sounds, means that all weapons will automatically have the altered look. Which is good, if true, since it won't be just a template that you keep having to apply to every new weapon you get.

Will there be an option to get the Dark Sun version of the weapons?

There are 2 versions of each in Ktera, these ones and darker versions. I think some people would prefer those over these golden ones.

should be thankful they are giving us anything at all lol

EU gift: http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3pdpdawq01qfbsf0o1_1280.jpg

Personally I like ours better so I'm not complaining. None of the EU ones appeal me except for maybe the Sorcerer's Book (but I don't play Sorcerer)

However, this is just an opinion so I can understand why some people might be unhappy. The only advice that I have for you is to wait, I'm sure that we'll eventually have those skins :3

Well, seems I was right on the money, at least in regards to the EU weapons:

http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/premium-services-novelty-items-now-available

If, on the other hand, you're the type of player who likes to walk softly and carry a big, shiny stick, we have some amazing, custom weapon skins available in the novelty items section that are guaranteed to bedazzle your friends and befuddle your enemies. Does your warrior want to swing double-bladed axes, then grab Butcher & Block. Is your mystic into rock-climbing? Check out the Piton. But remember, all of our custom weapon skins sets are available for a limited time only! Once they're gone, they'll be put into the vault for a while, and a new set takes their place. Novelty items are not trade-able, sell-able, or discard-able. They are single use, soul bound items.

EDIT
Of course, less than two hours after I post this it gets resolved. It got fixed the way I didn't want... but... good job Enmasse. You guys are on the ball.
EDIT

I know this is a dead thread and all, but something was still left unanswered. Shall we sum up for those just joining us?
EnMasse:
Thank you for purchasing the game. To show our thanks, here’s a little something that has no in game effect, but we think you might think is cool.
Inquisitive customer:
Where do I get them? Why don’t I have them? When do I get them? Is it too late to get them? Will they be account bound, or a temporary one time use item? Can I get them even though I bought the game from a different source?
Unhelpful smart-aleck:
Read the post. Your stupid[sic].
EnMasse:
If you sign up for a subscription before June 1st, then you will get your weapons once your first month’s pay goes through; after the free trial period and after the subscription amount clears your credit card, checking account, or whatever. Yes, they are permanent and can be given to all you’re your characters as many times as you want through the item claim section in your in-game menu.
Impatient poster:
Wait, why can’t I have them now?
Helpful cynic:
Did your trial end, and your first month go through? No? Then wait like everyone else.
Hopeful Searcher:
The European gift was different. It had swords for lancers and hammers for berserkers and three mask items. Can I have that instead?
Unaffiliated Person:
No. Deal with it.
Thoughtful Optimist:
It’d be nice if this was an option. I like these better. Hey, EnMasse, are you listening? Maybe make them available through some other means?
Possible Troll:
It’s a free gift. Stop whining. You don’t understand anything. Asking for anything makes you seem ungrateful. Be happy with what you have and say nothing more, for your voice annoys me.
Random Idealist:
I think people should be allowed to voice their opinion, and tell En Mass what it is that they expect of them. How else will they know what their customers want?
Later self-confirmed Troll:
Your opinion is stupid. Things are different. No complaining.
Followed by:
Three pages about the nature of opening in foreign markets vs. and its necessity in a digital medium and whether voicing discontent could be a form of constructive criticism.
And then:
Three pages about the difference between fact and opinion, subjective preference, and picking apart everything with analogies (even analogies).
What’s left unanswered? EnMasse, you’re sure to have noticed this by now. Do you think you may start planning something involving the EU skins and mask items?
Suggestions:
A future gift for three months plus of subscription
Gift claim items from class specific achievements
Items purchasable in-game through a non-gold currency
I hope I’m not speaking out of turn, but I think most of us would be happy without a micro transaction store. I’ve always hated when MMO’s add items that you just can’t get unless you shell out more money. The exception to this is free-to-play games, as they have to make money somehow. But for a monthly subscription game, locking out content or even vanity items for more money is just plain extortion. Hopefully you will find some fun, compelling, and simple way to include these and future items in the game. I have faith in you guys so far.
