Where are people getting the idea of loot bonuses ? There is no bonus directly to "dropped" loot for using the LFD tool.

The extra rewards, based on ktera version , are potions, scrolls, crafting mats etc.

The 2-3x loot thing that was mentioned in another announcement is dungeons wide. It just means instead of a 5-10% drop , you have 15-30%(example). It's not tied to the LFD tool.

I do agree with people about the combat buffs and the whole "If i have a full group already, we get zero benefits, just because we didn't use the tool".

It's says extra rewards:

...and even sends you extra rewards when the last boss falls.


Sends you, SENDS. It has nothing to do with DROPS.


And if ktera is any indication , it was just potions, scrolls, crafting mats which came in a giftbox(like eggs). Just a small bonus reward for completing a dungeon using the LFD tool, which iirc came by mail(dont quote me). It had nothing to do with what each boss drops personally.

Okay, how the system if flawed.

4 guildies go into LFD...
1 pug go into LFD


start dungeon -> 20-30mins into instance -> group leader is one of the 4 guildies, he switches loot to group lead.
You can vote change group leader, need 4 votes.(aka everyone but the leader) so even if the 1 pug was the group leader.. they can vote change leader and make it leader only loot.

No accountability because you cant really name and shame these players easily.

compared to same server, same community. They would be constantly talked about in /A /LFG and people will not join their groups.

Again. Terrible system.

It isnt needed/required to enjoy this game, but it will hurt the game for many players that enjoy things outside of instance grinding.

What bright said is a real concern(not oh no you get some extra consumables!), and hopefully something they are aware of.

They(EM) could lock the loot type into one setting and you cant change it if you use the LFD tool.

Can you please disable this option for PvP servers, or atleast, for a single pvp server? This absolutely kills pvp because there is no risk or reward for levelling or acquiring gear. You don't ever have to run to an instance, you just sit in town and wait for it to pop.

Open World pvp requires people to be in the open world, so you either, remove this LFD tool, or make instance drops less worthwhile then open world pve so there is at least a risk/reward trade off.

The build we had for closed beta ensured that there was this risk/reward trade off, but, with the instance drop buff you nerfed open world pve and therefore pvp. Then, with the LFD tool, you removed ALL risk to pve.

Please disable cross-server and instance port OR disable LFD for a pvp server, or fix the risk/reward ratios so open world pve is worthwhile.



I'm finding myself agreeing with this post for a few reasons.

One is that the LFD will quite fairly minimise the open world PvP situation to such a degree that it may in fact become obsolete, which I think people on PvP servers are worried about.

Another reason, and I feel this is a very strong reason, is that TERA is a very community driven game. So much so that entire sections will be changed by one selected person. This can create a lot of dramatics into that particular server, and create a tight-knit community based on the actions of the people on that particular server. This will greatly affect the dramatics and subsequent PvP in the open word, which is great! It's what we started on a PvP server for, fights everywhere!

Now, if you were to bring cross-server players into the mix, in my respectful opinion, it can get confusing. For other people from other servers to join our community (and likewise, us to join their community) it can only fragment the politics and dramatics we have introduced on our server. The players could be great, helpful, but they could also become a real bother, be a nuiscance and cause chaos.

This would be fine if there was a consequence. If they were on the same server, and they were causing disruption, the community can decide on how to treat these players for better or for worse. If they are on another server entirely however, we cannot do a thing - likewise they could not do anything if we were to do the same. At best you could set up a list of who is cooperative and who is not, but across all servers that list will be far too great, and confusing.

I would prefer no cross-server LFD for two reasons;

1. It reduces presense in the persistent world, which in turn reduces everyday PvP and delegates it to situational PvP which can become slightly stale.

2. It fragments the community and politics for the player's respective server and provides little consequence for disruption.

These are my thoughts, and they are only relative to PvP servers. You don't have to agree with them, that's cool too. :)

Keep it off PvP servers if you, for some reason, must have this stupid system. I really don't get why EME is pushing it this bad, a lot of people don't want the cross server aspect. If it's active on PvP servers then I'm just going to roll need on everything and abuse group leader until it's changed, until the OWPVP eventually dies off and I get bored of the game.

Up to 4 characters can queue for the Instance Matching system, edited the original post as well.

Folks, there are a lot of features we've listened to the community and implemented into the game such as starting PvP at level 11 instead of having to wait till maximum level and separating the server types (PvP/PvE/RPPvE). This is possible because we have a dedicated team at Bluehole Studios that we work with, and we are always listening and doing our best to make TERA the best game it can be.

If you're going to do this, at least make it possible for a full party to queue. I want to run dungeons with my guildies WITHOUT missing out on the rewards and WITHOUT being forced to accept some random dickburger from another server. Also, this is horrible for RP. Everybody planning to be on Celestial Hills hates this idea. You can't claim to support RP and then pull a stunt like this.

Just make it allow up to 5 people in a party, please.
