We will have more information on these in the future but as neither of the systems has been used by our community in a post-launch setting, we really want our community to try them out and give feedback based on their experiences. We appreciate the community's feedback and we are, as always, listening to them closely.

Well they said they really haven't seen how the system will function once it's released so I figure EME will actually make tweaks that will quiet these foretellings of failure in the future. I for one am for the cross server LFD system if it's done right.

I may not have much experience with Tera but one of the issues I could see with this system is that no one goes out into the world. Removing teleportation to dungeons won't make people magically appear in the world creating a flourishing OW community. The source of that problem would be that there's no incentive to go out into the world in the first place. If Tera has plenty of that then the community and OWPvP will be fine.

I really don't agree with the choice to add bonuses/rewards for using this LFD system, they just weren't needed as the convenience of finding a fast group is enough reward imo. I guess grouping with random people tends to be more chaotic so buffs were added for less room for error.

Lastly, I hope EME knows that it's a given that a cross server friends list is needed to accommodate this kind of system, otherwise the system is degraded to just having people to do dungeons with, and that kills accountability.

Stay true to your audience En Masse/BH. We are the ones that will be maintaining this game, and systems like these are going to chase us away.

Vunak makes a great point. Tera needs to focus on keeping a loyal fanbase, rather than pandering to the masses.

Adding features like LFD will only make it similar to other MMOs. Tera can never be like them, only a inferior imitation.

Concentrate on what makes Tera unique; Keep Tera a challenging game. Don't cheapen the experience with gimmicks. If nothing else, you'll make more money in the long run.

Lol@ telling a company to focus on the smaller player base and make less money, then put in something that more people will like, instead of sitting around LFG.

No one forces you to use the tool, don't like it don't use it. I used the LFD in WoW but I also created my own groups the old fashioned way. Nothing says both cant exist.

Post like the one above me are hilarious, almost everyone's objections to LFD is the not the mechanic itself, it just because it was used in other games. How sad. I could name you a whole list of mechanics/features that have been used before, but people don't seem to mind those. What a bunch of hypocrites.

For a game that bashes other MMO's (WoW included), they sure do seem to be trying to make it more like WoW, or Rift or any other MMO(I hate that WoW has become the MMO Genre). It's turning into; the only different aspect of this game is the manual targeting. The advertisments push it's idea like TERA is like no MMO around, yet the closer it gets to release the closer it resembles every other MMO.

They don't bash other MMOs, they have said MMOs in general have boring repetitive combat. Which is true. But no video of their MMO-FO thing ever targeted specific MMOs to bash. And they have been touting their combat because it is the first MMO to do combat like an action game.

inb4 non-MMOs like Vindictus
inb4 rooted while attacking
inb4 WoW invented cross server dungeons
inb4 WoW invented Gold, Silver, Copper
inb4 WoW invented quests

Yea, so removing the RNG which everyone [filtered]ed about for 2 goddamn years and it's making Tera like WoW. Which as added to Tera AFTER Ktera launch because there wasn't ENOUGH grind. Let's ignore GvG combat, Politics, Combat, you know, Gameplay, the stuff that actually matters in a game. Let's attack minor quality of life changes to remove irritation from the game so people can actually play the game, and not sit around jerking off.

Do you even think before you post?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClDELJubox4&feature=player_embedded

Tell me in that video where they didn't mention any other MMO besides TERA. Did you even watch the video before you posted?

What part of everyone being able to easily get +12 is a good thing? With the way it is now whats the point in enchanting? If it needs to be so easy why not just give all the weapons the stats of it being +12 without having to enchanting. Would that make you happy? Or is that not enough for you? How bout 100% gold drops on dungeon bosses. Or even better. The best gear gets put in your mail as soon as you hit the level for it. That sounds awesome!

RNG is a way of life when it comes to everything related to an mmo. The success rate of enchanting, RNG. The drop rates for everything, RNG. The rolls for rare loot, RNG. So how can you complain about something that is in EVERY MMO? Yeah, I can see RNG can get a little too extreme, but by no means should that mean it need to be take out to make you, or anyone else for that matter, feel better.

I know all about RNG. AION, Fenris pants, 16 fails before sucsess, and I still think there needs to be risk for your reward. Right now, losing money only = no risk at all.

You talk quality of life. So who long do you think this kind of "quality of life" will last once, before the trial is up, you're wearing full golds at max level? Sounds like TOR. Never have I played a MMO that I literally felt like I beat the game until I played TOR. And the way this is turning out now, it's gonna be the same thing.

Let's call a spade a spade.

None of this is about 'community', or 'owpvp', or 'skill', or anything of the sort. Every single argument of that type has been debunked (and ignored) ad nauseum.

The people who are against the LFD, by and large, are simply wanting to keep 'the riff-raff' out. It's nothing more than an attempt at reclaiming 'old school' by limiting the active playerbase via enforced time constraints. They don't want to see the people with less time -- those filthy casuals -- playing THEIR game. That's all it really is, and it's all it ever has been.

Well too bad. I can't dismiss most of you from my internet despite the fact the vast majority of you know very little about it or contributed anything to it during its 'old school' days. The September That Never Ends goes on and on and on. Well it's the same with gaming. Adapt or die.

Actually, that's exactly the opposite of how I feel O.o. I love more people in TERA - casual or not. But I hate the dungeon finder. I also hate griefing gankers and I will not be one myself.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm sure that most of the people that are against the dungeon finder don't dislike it simply because they can't gank or because there will be more casuals. It's about OWPvP, the community, and experiencing the outside of TERA, not just the instances like how WoW has come to be.

Then they'll be happy to know that the community, the owpvp, and the outside of TERA have -nothing- to do with the LFD and everything to do with the quality of players on their server in conjunction with EME's policies and the value of crafting/rifting. Welcome to the fold! =)

This is exactly how I feel. I'm beyond disappointed in EME's decision, and I can honestly say this is the first time I've been genuinely unhappy with anything they've done to the game.

Unfortunately for me, I'm basically friendless. The people I met in beta didn't stick around, and I don't have a guild to do things with. I was really hoping for a SAME SERVER dungeon finder so that the community could get to know each other, and forever alone people like me could make some friends to run with.

Cross server means no one cares about their reputation because you'll never see each other again. I can honestly say I'd rather wait in queue for 20 minutes to run with people who will be accountable for their actions than 30 seconds to run with people who give no [filtered]s and just want to troll and be rude. :/

Seriously disappointed, EME. I know others are too. :c

I don't know. LFG tool is server-based, and it's not like you can't customize your message saying you want to... I don't know, say, run an instance with other people on your server.

But those who don't mind branching out, or don't mind dealing with douchbaggery, or even those who want to dish out douchbaggery themselves, can choose the LFD option.

It's win win, I say.

I am a fan of a close-knit community, but what if you're stuck on a low-pop server?

Then, there's LFD.

EME is listening. They're accommodating both play-styles effectively, IMO.

I agree with this man! My friend, my girlfriend and myself are part of your audience, and we love this change! We don't care about OWPvP as we will be playing a PvE server. This change will allow us to be out in the world leveling, questing, gaining rep, exploring and more while waiting to join a dungeon, instead of being bored in town trying to get a group together.
