Yes, cause I'm just the most ignorant person of all time. Sorry, but not liking this game and wanting voice my opinion of it so maybe, just maybe EME and Bluehole will listen. (I know its a long shot, but there is not harm in trying) Also I'm not sure where you get off saying that I am and misguided seeing that I'm only staying facts of the game as it is. Crafting horrible, RNG enchanting system is by far the worst I have ever seen in a game. PvE is boring and uninspired, when you are seeing the same mobs at level 60 that you saw at level 1, doing the same attacks there is a problem. That is just as bad as FF14 copy and pasting the same world models all over the place. The classes are so very unbalanced, there is no fun or interesting PvP. No objectives for OWPvP or insistence. Gear has way to much to do with how good a player is, which then it comes down to the player that has more time to spend wins, no matter the skill level.

I don't know how you can defend this game when pretty much everything about it other then the combat is by far the worst of any MMO. What do you find so great about Tera that you are willing to waste your money on the sub. An doing say in hope that it with get better cause that is a BS answer, and spending money on hopes, dreams and rainbows is for fools. You met as will flush $15.00 down the toilet every month. It will probably be more entertaining to watch the money spin in the water then to log in to Tera.

Seriously there should be mod or admin who ban or delete these type of post, these people are just some random people don't play the game or can't play the game and saying it suck or horrible. People like them better off playing clicking game and don't go on forum and talk [filtered].

Don't know who the OP was had a hard time finding it but I have had success with this solution to the "no disk" error. I have 2 computers side by side both running Windows 7, one had the error the other did not.

In:
Program files/Tera/client/s1game/config/
There's a file called "DefaultEngine.ini"
Make a copy of this file in case the fix does not work.
Open the file with a text editing program if it doesn't by default. (Notepad should work fine)
Then deleted the lines with "+Paths=E: in them"

Again, make a copy of the file before editing if you want to try it.
Only deleted the 5 lines that have a drive letter in them. This is the section where they are located in the INI file.
I deleted the entire line of code, that I will mark in this post to show which ones, with a "<==" at the end of the line that is to be deleted.

Contents of DefaultEngine.ini after opend:
==================================

[S1Game.ReleaseData]
+Paths=E:\r17\ReleaseData <==
+Paths=E:\r17\AdditionalL10NData\LiveReleaseData_%LOCALE% <==

[Core.System]
; ~~~ Paths´Â ³ªÁß¿¡ ¾´ °ÍÀÌ ¿ì¼±¼øÀ§°¡ ³ôÀ½ ~~~
+Paths=E:\r17\ReleaseData <==
+Paths=E:\r17\AdditionalContentsData\ReleaseData <==
+Paths=E:\r17\AdditionalL10NData\LiveReleaseData_%LOCALE% <==
+Paths=..\S1Game\Content
+LocalizationPaths=..\S1Game\Localization
SavePath=..\S1Game\Save
+Extensions=gmp
+Extensions=gpk
SeekFreePCPaths=..\S1Game\CookedPC
SeekFreePCExtensions=xxx
...
...
...
=====================================
There is more in this file, but you need only delete the ones marked with the "<==" in this forum post. IN THE ACTUAL FILE those markings will not be there. The line should read the same aside form that.

Deleting those 5 lines appears to work for my Windows XP, thanks.

Wow, way to not fix anything --

They did, did you miss the 'bugs squashed' section?

-- Just take the damn political system out --

Some people like it. Like me and everyone running for Vanarch.

HK009 on 07/09/2012, 07:29 PM

-- Putting the rewards for the dungeon finder? how does that fix the bugs in them and the class bugs that are making players frustrated. --

It doesn't fix the current problems.

HK009 on 07/09/2012, 07:29 PM

-- EME you think that giving those boxes are going to make people Que??

It actually will. Ontop of the Server Merge when you que, why wouldn't you?
In my opinion, they sweetend the deal even more.

HK009 on 07/09/2012, 07:29 PM

-- I'm getting just about tired of thinking maybe Tera will get better. With early patch it only ether doesn't change or gets worse.

Oh, you're tired? Please, tell me how your Grade School criticism helps Tera's bug fixing and development teams.
This game was released in May. Let's see.. June..July..

ENE Masse has been at this for two months and there's only a few bugs in the game that really don't qualify the game as to be 'broken' or 'unplayable'.

Consumers like yourself fail to see the larger picture, which in terms doesn't help anyone with fixing anything. A forum post on a patch-update ordering the developers like their boss, stating the obvious isn't going to give them an epiphany. Odds are there's bugs you don't know about that they continue to fix.

It'll be better for all the readers, and the employers at ENE Masse if you sat back alittle and act a bit more mature. Did you forget? The game is rated M for mature.

ONTOPIC:

I Downloaded the game virtually, and the TERE.exe is asking me to insert a disk which I do not have BECAUSE I bought the game via virtual download.

Wasn't sure if anyone was aware.

I kind of skipped the last few pages because I didn't really feel like reading it, but I just wanted to highlight this post.

From what I've seen and read about thus far, as this person said, the bugs do not break the game nor make it unplayable. Yes, they very well may be infuriating at times or annoying or just a minor inconvenience, but this is what happens when a game first starts out. WoW was like that, Lineage still is like that, and Ragnarok has become so freaking broken it's ridiculous. Coming from a programmer (and also programmed a Ragnarok server), bugs are sometimes harder than a simple patch. And as this person also pointed out, they did mention bugs they were capable of fixing in one patch. Why don't y'all put yourselves in their shoes and tell me that it should just be that simple?

Anyways. This game has been officially released for /not even/ two months. Having as high of expectations as many of you have had is absolutely ridiculous and giving criticism such as "y u no fix" or "this, this, this and this should be fixed," isn't going to get it fixed any faster or sooner. As I said, some things take time, and personally, as both a programmer and a player I wouldn't want /ANYTHING/ released unless it was perfect. I was in production of my own programs for a year or more, and even then had bugs despite the long hours I spent perfecting everything.

It happens. That's technology, which is unfortunately very fussy. Everyone learns to deal with it and I think that everyone should be happy that they are even working hard to get these patches in to begin with.

Great job thus far, EME. I'm far more impressed than I expected and I've just started.

Totally agree with Ashilynn. Everyone should know that EME changes TERA and our TERA is different to Kr, hence the code must be changed as well ---> there might be bug occurring. And eveyone should know that TERA is ~ 45gb, that's a hell lot of code, do you really expect them to fix the bug in just 1 single day. You all should learn programming before saying [filtered].

Some relevant reading. How can you help non-programmers understand the development process?

I especially like this analogy of a 400 mile walk. (linked from the comment in the article.)
