To the idiots who claim the elections are good because they are similar to real life:

I just had to post...people who are saying that this political system is like real life which makes it good...well IRL you don't respawn. I think once a character dies it should either lose everything or have transfer things to a family member (assuming it has drafted a will).

Yes I agree you should have to earn what you have, but earning a right to effect other peoples gameplay (outside of pvp of course) is quite annoying.

This is a game. Not real life. Games are meant to be fun. Adding something like this, will cause people to be completely entrenched in the game, which is whatever, if folks want to give up RL for this then thats fine with me, but when it effects my gameplay, that is when it becomes a problem for me. Hopefully this Vanarch crap will be strictly RP and not extend beyond that.

This is NOT real life. It is real. We are alive. Life is what is outdoors. That is all.

wow you have to be GM to even run?

talk about something that will not work out here in the west...

Implement a system that excludes 99percent of the population outside of their "vote".

You should be able to run if you have the votes and the funds imo.

I had heard that there would also be a PvP-based way to get into Vanarch seat? Is this still planned, or is it available?

with the price amout of dedication this involves it seems like hostile take over via deathmatch would be easier achieved if this still plans on being implemented also is there gunna be of 1 vanarch zone per guild each month so we some diversity around the contintent like the US does currently id really prefer not to see a bill gates monoply in tera vanarchy

Originally I think Vanarch was anyone who had the funds and votes and Exarch was only for Guild leaders but I guess they changed it. I thought the old approach was better.

So....

What system if any is in place to prevent mindless zerg guilds from controlling each and every province? This entire thing seems very poorly planned.

That's still two too many. Think about it! If you were a zerg and could potentially control any province in the game which one would you choose? The biggest one with the most player traffic. This is because they make more money due to player shops and stuff like that.

So what system is in place from preventing these Zerg guild from basically getting first dibbs on the best provinces?

...hmm...I'd set up a black market outside of province control to be able to maintain both personal profit margins and (hopefully) create a special economy safe from the likely high taxes said zerg guilds would likely place in their coffers. Of course a possible side-effect of such a plan might place yourself into a potential election spot in future political races...perfect to maintain low taxes and high profits for all...
