Diablo 3 getting bad reviews

I played D2 when it was released on Juno dial up on my parents computers as a kid.

I've played/botted much later for D2 ladders and jsp.

I just went 1-58 to Act 3 hell solo on a Wizard (very mediocre soloer, only above Barb and barely above WD) in 35 hours played, and I'm pretty disappointed. I could pretty much fill out an entire review covering fundamental issues, but I'll summarize in that Blizzards idea of balance makes Bluehole/En Masse look good, which pains me to even say.

The main way to play through the game involves exploiting broken mechanics that are only viable for 3 classes (DH Infinite Invis, Monk Infinite Spirit, 0 vit wizard) and the game STILL ends up feeling boring with frustrating unavoidable 1 shots and monsters that take far too long to die, for almost no real reward (level 60 cap is a joke). Fill this with bad itemization decisions, horrible AH handing, terrible network issues (that's not even including the several hours of downed servers at release with missing achievements and rollbacks, and the big asia issue that spilled over to US forums) and it feels like Blizzard did everything in its power to give the finger to old fans, new players, and everything in between all at once.

I figure I might just pick up a few more pieces of loot of the gold AH, and solo hell up to Act 1 or 2 inferno, then quit before I decide to set up a chest farming bot.

Diablo 3 beaten in just SEVEN hours after release? yup

It took me 20 hours to beat normal mode at my casual pace and reading/listening to all of the lore + dialogue. Now I'm playing the game through Nightmare mode with friends and having a blast. Still have Hell & Inferno mode left to play through after I finish Nightmare as well. Along with achievements / challenges to do and getting loot.

There are always idiots who rush through games. There have been level 60's on TERA for a good while now. Beating a dungeon crawler in 7 hours isn't exactly shocking.

Well enjoy playing the same content with the same bad writing and voiceovers I guess.. .Oh wait the mobs have more health and hit harder so it's a WHOLE NEW GAME or something right? right?

Personally the terrible netcode response really sealed the deal (delayed click responses in solo play, not being able to log in etc etc). I won't pay 60 dollars for a single player game that can only be played with an internet connection.

I pondered picking it up as a side game to play casually. When I was at Walmart's electronics department they had a sign just for the Diablo 3 game that required me to get a sales associate. So when I ask a sales associate he tells me he can't hand me the game until I am on my way out of the store and that would have to go up front with me to get it. Sorry but uh what?

Oh well I will download it someday maybe...until then more Tera.

My bf has been playing it and visually it's not too bad, the cinematics are awesome, but as an outsider who's never played a DIablo game and has no connection to the series it just seems boring to me. He gave me a trial code and I played it for like 20 mins before the servers went down the day of release and I was not in a rush to get back into the game when they came back up.

He plays with a naga mouse and the small number of abilities he gets are all on the mouse. When I venture out into the living room all I hear is click click click click click click click. Watching him play that seems to be the basics. His witch doctor character seems like he doesn't have to spam click as much but it also seems like all he does is run around and pick up loot while his minions do all the work.

Doesn't seem worth $60 imo but he's enjoying it so for some players it is a fun game.

LOL! Alright... I'll have fun playing Diablo 3 for sure, thanks man!

These forums crack me up. People are so damned defensive over their game of choice. Definitely can't enjoy more than one game, ever.

Honestly it's the way dungeon crawlers are meant to be played. His minions won't be able to handle the work load beyond normal mode if he chooses. It gets a lot more interesting and fun in Nightmare and beyond. Especially with a 4 player party, the game sends so many monsters at you it's an absolute blast.

A game with the same content, and when you play on a harder difficulty it's still the same exact game with only harder hitting/more HP mobs... I'm not sure if you're talking about D3 of TERA, since it fits both boring games...

How is Path of Exile? Similar game to D3 that is in beta but you can play it now for $10.

Dude, this game is going to get bad reviews if they don't change their mind and get rid of that rediculous f**king(yeah I cursed I'm that pissed) Premium shop.

You might as well as call this game TERAblo 4.

Ohh yeah...because tera filled the shop with pay to win items..o wait....
