Hi I am new to pc gaming. I have been spoiled by console games for quite some time now and finally decided to get a computer to play with my guildies.. in the process i have downloaded Ventrilo to talk to them and it stays on message "connecting to server" when i open vent, and I was wondering if there was anybody that could help me fix it? lol I have done numerous research on the problem and cant seem to come to a conclusion so yea :)

You need the ip and port of the server your friends are on.

i have that and inputted everything correctly but it just gives that MSG *Connecting to server* or contacting server i cant remember where it is.. alot of people said to open ports on router or what not but i am not sure how to do that lol
