Why do mmo devs always seem to follow the safe WoW formule of create factions and class for players to choose from at Character Creation Screen? Well one of my most memorable games I ever played was Fable. Great game, it offered you a taste of each calling, melee, range/archer, and wizard all with base skills that as you level up you could just put points in to what ever features you were going for.
You also got a taste of right and wrong/good and evil. And the npc's would react to how ever you chose to be aligned in the game. That which would be great feature to put into an mmo and offers much more of a needed immersion factor to the game and could lead into choosing a faction ingame.
I have many other ideas and some of them seem to be right there in Swtor, just that ToR dropped the ball and try to take the easier way out and force players to pick a faction, race and class all before you even log in.
So what do you guys think about more choices that you can make ingame, versus choosing everything your going to be from the start?
