(Better for the Off-Topic section. And be nice to each other please. D:)

welcome to the world, people without knowledge hate on others who know what they are talking about.

SMEX and Professional were proven wrong so they result to saying everyone is a retard but them.

SMEX should have had their name changed forcefully based on forum rules.

You also have to factor in the fact that an SSD will typically last about 4 times as long as any drive with moving parts. That's a pretty big advantage. You will most likely upgrade your SSD to something bigger or faster before you have to replace it because it dies.

Why are you still calling a SSD a HDD? What makes you think a 10k RPM HDD drive is a different type of drive than a 7200RPM HDD? That's right you don't think because you just read it from a brochure lol... I'm not disputing that a SSD is faster than hybrid drive and the hybrid faster than a HDD. I'm just somewhat puzzled as to why you'd be so adamant to promote something you don't fully understand.

That is all my friend and please refrain from insulting us Americans. We've welcomed everyone to our boards but it doesn't mean you get a free pass to be a douche.

Wow thank you all for the abundant and detailed responses, yea I wanted to get an SSD for Tera load times and in busy cities within the game and other PC reasons, and since my hdd was bottlenecked by my core i5, gtx570, only 8 GB ddr3 which I think is fine though, but you all convinced me to get an SSD or a hybrid.

im still not sure if i should get ssd or hybrid though, im not really concerned about money im just curious how much better ssd over hybrid is.

Thoughts?

If money isn't an issue then SSD is what you want and possibly a raid 0 SSD setup. Make sure you get one that is SATA 3 compatible for best performance. A hybrid drive is also a good option but you stated %% isn't a problem so :D

Crucial is a great brand, avoid ocz ( even though Im currently using 2 myself and they are working great I wouldn't recommend them as they have a bad rep for quality)

Though this one

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1083887&CatId=5300 Looks very good for your purposes if it is in your price range, plenty of room for your OS as well as TERA, with a 64gb one youd be a bit pressed for space.

also had to stop and lawl how there is a same one but for macs and its $100 more, exact same speed and everything XD

Is also very good.

Listen to me when I tell you this. I work directly with vendors for SSDs and HDDs.

Samsung is the most reliable SSD brand you can buy. After Samsung is Intel or Crucial, but they use the same nand chips. Samsung produces everything in house and their nand chips are of the highest quality.

You want to get a 120-128GB SSD at near a dollar per GB and use it ONLY for your operating system and TERA. DO NOT USE IT FOR STORAGE.

You can put in a 2 TB HDD as your secondary.

SSDs makes a huge difference for games like this because the game is so huge, there are thousands of files to load.

Great advice above.

Like he said, your SSD is for your OS and games/programs only. Music/video/pics and all that other crap go into your storage HDD.

Also if you use P2P programs make sure you set them to save your DLs to your storage drive.

Once you install your SSD I also recommend you fine tune it by disabling file paging/indexing and enabling TRIM if you're on W7.

I run two 250GB SSD's in raid 0, the loading time from when I press on that gold "Play" button to when I can click "Enter" on the character select is 11 seconds.

As many have said before, well worth it.
