Solo TERA or Group WoW?

so i'm in the middle of a pickle here atm and was wondering if people from this forum (and others ofc) could provide their opinions.

so heres the back story, i played WoW about a year ago for 2.5 years-ish with some good friends of mine, but eventually some started to quit, some transferred to more populated servers or the opposite faction, eventually leading to all of us (except 2 of the guys) to either just quit or switch to SWTOR.

I and a few others had decided to take an MMO break and watch GW2 and TERA to see if theyd be good "replacements." well we're all loving GW2 but that still doesnt even have a release date, and im the only one so far to invest in TERA (which is frustrating, they all enjoy the demo but NONE will buy the game...... probably spent some time on the constantly negative general discussion forums.... damn :P). so im left to play solo and ofc with my current guild (where i dont actually "know" any of them, which is fine but still not as good).

now the dilemma is that one of my closest friends brother moved out, like finished college and moved across the country, and he still played WoW, so to keep in contact my friend got back on as well. then immediately afterwards ALL the players who had switched to SWTOR moved back to WoW due to there being no content in SWOTR, along with a few of the others who were undecided about TERA.

so im basically asking, should i stay with TERA and play the better game but all on my lonesome? or go back to WoW and play the not as good game but with a bunch of my friends again?

EDIT: want to add that WoW does actually have a more fleshed out endgame then TERA atm, so it may not be as good but there may actually be more to do, but thats just speculation on my side :P

P.S. there was plenty of scrolls of resurrection to go around and everyone is on the same server and same faction again, just fyi. also, id be getting a scroll as well, so a bunch of free stuff just for setting up a payment plan lol

P.P.S. no i wont play both, i do not have the time or spare money (college..... freakin saps ALL my damn money! DX).

thank you to anyone who answers this and provides something constructive :)

what your asking is do you want to be the leader or a follower? Here's the way I see it. Make your own choice and stick with. Any time they ask how's Tera working out for you, if you really are enjoying it stand your ground and let them know how much your loving it. Nothing convinces friends to play a different game like how much an individual stands by what they say. Be optimistic but not a jerk. I still have friends that play WoW and have wanted me to come back and raid with them. I totally respect them for their own taste of mmo's but I'm just burnt out and done with wow for a long time. Tera is new and fresh and still can lure new players in by having players choose to play and not be so easily wavered away by doubt.

Combat is nice, graphix are nice, and female models are hot. but alas the fun ends here. The lore is bad, the story is meh, the questing the same exact quest over n over n over again. I've unsubbed for now and hope EME does stay successful in the future and always wish them the best of luck. They seem to care and have their [filtered] together, I could see Tera having a good long life in NA if they can get some content and changes made. This takes time and i've still got my eye on them and may come back in due time. We shall see.

well i mean in the past what, month(?) since TERA has been released i've been trying to get people to get it almost none stop. sending pics, vids, letting them try my characters, linking them to the free demo, just talking to them about it, etc. nothing is working, and i have a feeling its cause its an asian MMO (most had bad experiences with aion lol).

so basically i can stay and "be a leader" and keep trying to get people to join, but at this point i HIGHLY doubt my friends who just got back together on WoW will want to switch again to a somewhat unknown game currently not getting the best reviews due to lack of end game content, no matter how much i talk it up :/

so thats why my choices are solo TERA or group in WoW, there really is no "be the leader" scenario here.

but thnx for the input, both of you, and i feel the same taters, about TERA that is. i might unsub as well, just for a short while ofc, probably just until BGs are released lol and if i do that then WoW with my buds would be my choice :P

I feel your pain, it can be hard leaving WoW. You make friends in an mmo than you don't want to leave so easily. I've had friends that mmo hopped for years and landed on WoW and stay for 6 years than left to play Rift than went back to WoW than left again and went to SWtor and now their stuck on ToR and just tired of mmo hopping.

Either A. Think about your friends and suck it up, or B. Say good-bye and tell them where you are and how to be in touch with you, Yeah it sucks but it is a fact of life. Sometimes people just fall away from each other and move on.

Is WoW seriously not f2p yet? Amazing.

But Seriously, Can you go home again? You may like your friends just fine, but let's be honest, after playing Tera can you really go back to WoW and actually enjoy it. If so, then enjoy it with them because honestly the most important thing in an MMO is the friends you play with. Anyone who plays MMOs for the solo experience is frankly wrong in the head. Eventually they will start to get the rumblings of boredom though. That's when you mention, "Yeah, well remember Tera? Completely different and polished combat system? We should give that a shot." By that time you're going to have more bug fixes, more content, more MOAR, and maybe even a F2P model in there as well (seriously, F2P is not actually the Debil)

On the other hand, maybe you go back and after a few fights you just say, "I'm sorry guys, after playing Tera this system feels like I'm riding a tricycle with a speed control and training wheels on it's training wheels. I'm going back to Tera." That kinda reaction is BOUND to get their attention.
