Don't bash on Funcom for the AoC game.

Funcom has a track record of failing epicly time after time. They are not known as Failcom for no reason.

Not going anywhere near TSW for at least 6 months of retail.

Also EA is bigger killer for me as well the way they handled swtor with that horrid game engine and mountain of glitches and bugs well i still have sour taste and they're not getting dime from me.

Wait for free trial or wait 6 months and check reivews and other things to see if it is even worth the money.

I agree, I liked Tera at low levels but as I grew in levels the game just got over repetitive. Same mobs, same quest... yawn.


This is actually what i'm loving about TSW. Yeah there's some kill x amount of x mobs, but there's a lot of other great quest to, not ta mention the awesome VO. That which was another epic fail on EME's list of things.

oh and EA is a issue huh? They aren't in charge of the game, their just a publisher like EME is. So that's not even a big deal.

And yes i'm willing to forgive someone for having a bad mmo. EME is having a tough time with Tera but i'm not holding any thing against them. I still sub and I still play Tera but I do see things that I my self aren't enjoying about the game.

sad to say, but yes it is. it just has a different style of "leveling" and "speccing". unlike most every mmo where you choose your class at character creation you can put talent points where ever you want and you can switch out talents on the fly and be what ever u need to be when ever you want to be. You can be a melee, range, tank, and even healer when ever you want. Its actually pretty cool.

And the story is omg amazing and the voice acting is really great and fits well with the how questing works. You can pretty much go where ever in a zone and just pick up quest anywhere and you don't have to return to a quest qiver to turn in quest.

The dungeons are very hard and kind of a old school WoW type dungeon where you have to know your boss fights and know where and where not to stand. CC is important at times, just as much as knowing when to kite and get away from adds. Pretty much all your dungeons are set up like small raid style bosses that require you to think your way through them,

oh and the game is full of puzzles and riddles. And there's an ingame browers that you can pull up and google things about the quest because some of the things the quest may ask you can't be solved with out some research.

Crafting is surperior and really creative and, fun, and very useful at all levels. This crafting style isn't hard persae but its hard to get right off and may take a little effort to figure out. I used a on line guide and a youtube video to understand what I was doing and once I got it it became more of a mini game the a chore.

honestly Tera combat is the best but the rest of the game is only meh. If questing was more enjoyable i would have stayed on longer, but interesting combat will only carry an mmo so far.

On the other side of things the bf turned to me today because he was stuck on a quest (in tsw). I was intrigued with the fact that he only got hints and had to figure everything out from there. And this was real life bona fide music trivia too. Not made up, I actually knew what he was talking about it's real [filtered]in history.

So I'm not sure if that game's for me but I'd love to try it out. Contrary to my usual shenanigans I do love to think and even if I didn't play seriously I could jump in put my detective and trivia skills to good use every now and then.

see i got this free beta key to invite a friend, i just gave it out to some random guy on tera forums that wanted to try it out. I don't know if he's used it or what but you should ask your hubby to check his email and see if he got a friend invite and let you have it.

Tatersaladin I appreciate your response.

If you say the story is good then I might check it out. I just got done playing Alan Wake (needed a break from Tera myself) and that really set well with me. I'm a story junkie and fiend off games like that. I remember seeing very limited info about the game long ago with the site describing what clan you belong to.

Tera's is lackluster and my only defense is Korean MMO's that are 'westernized' do the best they can. It's ok for a Korean MMO as most don't even have stories, or quests for that matter lol.
