Why would you get a 680 or a 7970 for tera anyways? that is complete overkill unless you are using a resolution much higher than 1920x1200.

I'd say 670 or 7950 tops, and even then, that would probably be overkill for tera.

btw, most, if not all quad cores should be able to handle these GPUs, and yes, the i7 is overkill for gamers. I prefer the i5, and I suppose the FX-6100 or higher are quite good to for overkill GPUs.

Just tested on I7-3770 3.4 ghz ivy bridge with asus gtx580 Cu-II and game freezes briefly from time to time in places like kaiator on max settings

1. Monitor native is 2560x1600.
2. Long-term investment.
3. 670 wasn't out when I had to order my PC.

My i5 3570 and GTX 670 are absolutely wrecking this game.

If you're thinking about a 680 I'd recommend not to. The 670 has 95% the power of the $200 more expensive 680. Practically no noticeable advantages whatsoever. And if you want to future proof then might as well try to find a 690.

I have teh 680 wif a 6 core 64 bit. I love it.. rocking 80+ fps with ultra graphics through all fights.
