Who's with me here? Who is going to go see this movie when it comes out? Remember how awesome The AVengers was? Yeah? I just have learn to really trust marvel these days with their movies, (although Ghost Rider 2 wasn't good at all). But we're talking about SM not GR. Spider-Man is one of Marvels more main stream Comic Books where is Ghost Rider has always been more of the back shelf comic.

I just wanted to post a 4min trailer for you guys and after you watch it tell us if you'll go see it or not. Let us know what you like or dislike about the new reboot to the older Sam Rami Spider-Man movies.

Spider-Man the comic is Marvel. Spider-Man the movie is made by Sony.

So it's not a matter of trusting Marvel with the Spider-Man movie, it's a matter of trusting Sony.

With that said, I'm going to see it. :)

Well it is being made by Columbia and Marvel Entertainment, so it's not really just Sony, Sony have owned Columbia for a long time and have given us some of the best movies in a long time and made the last Spider-man series of films, so for me trust is not an issue.

Also I really liked X-Men First Class and that was not made by Marvel Studios, instead 20th Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment.

But regardless of studio it is def' in my top 10 most anticipated movies for 2012-13.

@Korilynn

Gobsides seems to have it right here. i don't think Sony has anything to say about how the movie was made or done as much as just providing the film. Marvel in general has had a lot more to do with their movies these days and my personal impression is that Marvel is tired of directors/writers doing their movies bad and ruining their money makers.

All the Avenger movies were amazing, i'll admit that they weren't line by line done perfecctly like the comics but close enough to really matter to the loyal fans.

So my opion is Spider-man will be an AWESOME movie just because I've really grown to trust Marvel.

Yeah the last 3-4 years have been great trust building years for Marvel I have felt. We have had some good comics get justified screen releases that both long term fans and casual cinema lovers can both really enjoy.
Very exited for The Amazing Spider-man.

That's just it, Sony does have a say. They own all rights to Spider-Man when it comes to filming. What Marvel Entertainment gets is money due to it being their property.

It's because Sony owns Spider-Man's movie rights that we won't see Spidey in an Avengers movie, outside of some big deal between the two (which isn't likely to happen).

It's because of Sony that they didn't continue on with Sam Raimi's direction of the franchise.

That said, I think the new Spidey movie looks like it will be great! I want to see it :)

j
still not seeing eye to eye with you here. I still feel Sony is having very little influence on TASM. Just from the trailer it self this movie feels more of where Spidey should be in a movie it i'd say that's all because Marvel doesn't want it screwed up.

As far as Sam Rami's franchise goes. 1 n 2 were good, not great but decent enough, but omg lets not talk about 3. 3 was a giant POS. And actually they were making Spider-man 4 directed by Sam Rami with the full cast back, John Malcavish was playing the Vulture. The movie was in full production when Sam hit a bump in the road with Marvel and they couldn't agree on how to do something so Sam through in the towel and walked off set and didn't care to return. Toby Maquire wasn't a bad Peter Parker but so far I do like this Andrew Garfield kid much much better, not to mention they're keeping Parker at a teenage level versus pushing him into real life to fast.

On to the last note; you won't see Spidey in an Avengers movie due to more than just rights. Spidey was never a real Avenger til much much later. Marvel/Spider-man has said it over n over again that Spider-man is to much of a solo'ist and doesn't even belong in the Avengets. Marvel only put him there in the comicbook just to bring fans back to the orginal Avengers and try to push for a new direction. The Avengers movies was intended to be what it was/is. The main focus of the 4 main Avengers, ( cap america, iron-man, thor, and hulk). Wolverine and Spidery will never be true Avengers no matter what Marvel trys to do.

I do agree with you though that TASM movie will be an...amazing movie, no pun intended.

He hit a bump in the road with Sony, not Marvel. And it was Sony who wanted Venom in the Spidey 3 movie, and had Sam add things he never wanted to add to it.

Well in all the interviews I read from Raimi he put blame towards difference of opinion with producers, Avi Arads name came up in most of the rumors out of the Spider-man 3/4 camp. He is a Marvel Entertainment employee and fouder ot Marvel Studios and does not work for Sony or Columbia.
Yes he will be working on TAS-M and it may have been him butting in over Raimi and causing S-M3 to kinda blow, but he is not a Sony employee so I have no faith lost in them.

SP3 did suck, but it wasn't the use of Venom that made it suck so bad. I'd say Sandman was a more useless villain than Venom, and Harry being the second green goblin didn't pan out to well either.

But still Sam came back and "was" directing SM4

This seems to be where he really started to butt heads with Columbia. Seems that Columbia was trying to say what Villains to use while Sam wanted to use a different Villain.

After rereading various post on the subject it does seem that Korilynn is right that it was a battle between Sam and Columbia/sony. Mostly on budget and villains to be used in SP4. There are no exact details because Sam nor Columbia were mute to the press on the matters of who said what and who was trying to be more loyal to the comicbook.

IT WAS A BATTLE BETWEEN SAM AND COLUMBIA/SONY. NOT with Marvel directly.

If what I am reading is wrong, plz link me something that says Sam was not happy with Marvels direction because at this time I am not finding anything about Sam and Avi/Marvel really butting heads.
