Full 100% heal on a 30 second CD you get from RNG chests that appear around the world dropping random loot.
These soups, everyone seemed to get them but me, because I was the only person without them with enough courage to fight because everyone else who didn't have them knew someone they would try to engage would and knew it was useless.
Got to love when a berserkers uses FOUR in a single fight and then calls you a p*ssy for running, all my whys? I can not contain them.
I actually LOVE these chests in game a nice little edition I would LOVE to see on release, just no soups please.
Seeing a bunch of crying in this thread.... Good stuff..
Here's what I see
"When I'm in PVP i'm too excited to remember things like Potions so If I can't remember why should the person I'm dueling be able to remember"
"I NPC or always forget to bring or buy potions, why should I hafta fight a bunch of people who are intelligent and remember when i'm too stupid to remember"
Yada yada yada cry cry cry ect ect ect
Interesting, here is what I see:
Hey, you've got a 30s potion that does the same thing as a 2hr racial ability - which was designed as a 2hr racial ability for balancing issues. Additionally, this 30s potion can only be acquired via RNG. It cannot be bought from a vendor, crafted, or farmed from a mob.
The people focusing on the feedback are not discussing regular potions that are available to anyone on a consistent basis.
That was my feedback... Anyone here that played the entire weekend and farmed boxes over and over again knows you only get soups maybe lets estimate 1/40 chests. 2 Soups per chest at that rate left me with 16 soups in 3 days. Now These chests events are from what I saw once every other weekend to a month in Ktera. These chests are not a permanent fixture in Tera they are special events.
Now yes you can use them once every 30 seconds but that will very very quickly run out if you use them for PVP only and I can easily see you using all 16 in one day.
So what is there to really whine about they have them you have them you both will run out pretty damn fast.... They are good for PVE as well. I see no issue with this I mean I farmed these chests in excess and got barely any soups 16 isn't that much. I used 3 in PVE BAM fighting 1 on PVP and the rest is in my inventory
These definitely need to go, you're technically forced to use them if you have it for PvP because if you don't you're gimping yourself. Don't like it at all.
Yeah can we get these things removed please. Having the ability to insta-regen HP in combat with a pot is not needed.
It was just an event...they'll probably follow the same thing L2 did...random events that have some unique item...but they won't last forever...just a way for them to ensure people are logging in.

If these events happen every other weekend, that's pretty much my worst fear realized with regards to these potions. If I can restock my supply of 100% healing potions every 2-3 weeks, that's just enough to, say, use them to stay Vanarch in a region where PvP matches decide who rules.
increase cd... seriously lamest [filtered] watching jp/ktera pvp videos and seeing people going 22-0 because they hit pots whenever they needed to. No skill just a useless grind that people will do to win bg's /sadface
Let's see...pots at...(times listed between each pot and the previous 100% heal pot)
2:11
2:44 ~ 33 sec
3:22 ~ 38 sec
3:53 ~ 31 sec
4:11 ~ 18 sec +25%ish heal instead of 100%
4:47 ~ 54 sec (from last full heal pot, not the 25% one)
Had that Sorcerer lived ~3 seconds longer, he would've insta healed to full again and I would have lost that fight even though I was clearly playing better. (Assuming he had more of those pots on him, that is.)
It's dumb. I don't know how to get the 100% heal pots, but they either need:
A: A longer cooldown. 30 seconds cooldown on a FULL heal is stupid. Something like 5 minutes is more acceptable if normal pots that heal for like 1/4 as much are on a 3 minute cooldown. I'd still prefer 10+ minutes, but that's just me.
OR
B: To share a cooldown with other pots.
I'm completely okay with consumables being in the game, and even necessary to some extent. However, consumables that drastically turn the tide of a battle every 30 seconds to the point of it literally being who has more pots on hand is flat out poor design. A fight should be a fight. Won by the better/smarter player with maybe some help from consumables once or twice. Not a war over who spent more money on the auction house buying full heal potions to spam as soon as the (short) cooldowns are up.
Who the hell cares?! You act like there is looting in this game and he got your whole armor set just because of pots or something. Go get some pots then if they are so powerful and you can't win without them. Back on Darktide in AC, when someone had to slam 20 healing pots to stay alive while fighting me then even if I died I was content because even if I lost the fight it still cost them more. Those things were expensive as hell to keep stocked up on so I was laughing my [filtered] off all the way to the lifestone about it.
I mean really, is it really any different spending time farming or blowing gold buying all those pots than you spending time on gear runs or gold for better crystals/glyphs/weapons so you will perform better in pvp? The way I see it, you can't blame anyone for utilizing any means in the game necessary to win that you have equal opportunity to use as well. If anyone is to blame then it is you for not using them to your advantage as well. If a player recognizes that the benefit of having them is enough to justify the cost of getting them then that is a tradeoff they see as being worth it. Just like grinding quests and exp or time running dungeons for quest items might be worth the investment to you of leveling, learning better skills, and gearing up your character for the benefit.
It's part of the game for all to use so deal with it. Personally, I think the more items available in the world to employ in pvp survival the more interesting and challenging the combat is since it just adds more scenarios to consider and react to on the fly.
Some people are being particularly blind to the issue. This isnt a case of "I have them and they have them so its fair". As someone else mentioned, we could give a 1 shot ability to every class on a 2min cool down which by the same logic would be fair, but clearly isnt. The term for something being made available to everybody but being imbalanced is called "power creep". It is when class skills and consumables play too much of a role in the outcome of a fight that player skill itself doesnt determine victory.
For example if every class has the power to 2 shot others, within the period of a 2 skill kill the opponent isnt given the time to demonstrate his skill by countering. He is given limited room within which to influence the outcome of the fight. The same is said for 100% HP pots on this cool down. The role of skill becomes less significant due to the power of the pots. So instead of a skill based fight the game becomes "pot wars". Whoever spent more time farming chests in the open world is more likely to succeed in pvp.
The power of 100% HP pots is only compounded by the presence of safe zones. People are very easily able to withdraw from a fight by retreating to a safe zone, and should the RNG CC actually restrain them from that goal, the 100% HP pot will save them.
Now I understand all is fair in OWPvP. However even in OW, the PvP should still feel like just that, PvP. If people here are so ready to say "its a pvp server, if you get ganked deal with it" then why arent we ready to force those in danger of getting PKed to fight back?
Honestly if I play a game where every time I engage someone they pot and run, then I will not continue to play. It is no longer a matter of "use the tools at your disposal". Its a matter of I do not have the power to kill someone anymore. Everybody has the option to run and to pot, but these options favor those who choose not to pvp, and as a pvper myself on a pvp server this is a very evident flaw. I can overlook RNG combat, people 2 shotting crap and grinding for my gear, but at least after all that, I should be allowed to have pvp when I desire, not have everyone pot off and run.
TL;DR, 100% HP soup should be on a 3 min cool down and anyone who claims otherwise doesnt have the first clue to actual balance with respect to consumables/pvp/fun factor. The reasons for why were listed above.
Actually, the best PvP I have ever experienced in any mmo was one in which it never took more than two shots to kill eachother. You had to be so good with the controls that you were constantly moving and dodging, stopping only at crucial moments to attack when your spells would land on your target with enough time to either get the second finisher off before they cast a heal to recover or to get your own heal off and maneuver to the side before they landed 2 spells in a row for the kill. Rather than just hitting hotkeys as fast as the cooldowns are up this took experience and practice. For what seems like such a limited and basic combat system now, the PvP mechanics in AC was such a blast that the game kept a massive following through years of competition from new releases with far more advanced graphics engines and detailed game mechanics.
After the developers attempt to discourage griefing to balance OW PvP with a senseless infamy mechanic which only promotes outnumbered ganking in low level quest areas I'm amazed at such a concern about temporary event consumables. No solo player now wants to PK without backup OR in an area their own level because going red simply invokes mob mentality of every player within sight to bum rush them for an easy kill for no other reason than they CAN, not only does this cause PKs to only run around ganking in outnumbered parties but it leads them to do it in lower level areas where they will have a fighting chance at avoiding insta-death when every white player on the map flocks towards the red dot like flies on [filtered].
...and people are whining about the POTIONS affecting balance in OWPvP???
The way I see it, you can't blame anyone for utilizing any means in the game necessary to win that you have equal opportunity to use as well. If anyone is to blame then it is you for not using them to your advantage as well.
You don't have equal opportunity. It drops from a treasure chest. It's completely luck based whether or not you can have 20 life bars or 1 life bar or 389724390 life bars if you so choose to farm until you get that lucky.
I got like 24 soups total over the course of this last beta. They won me multiple 1v2s and 1v3s, and others made me live against 10+ people so I could escape.
