They really do not need to be on a thirty second cooldown. There are bad players who use real-life money to acquire the money to get a massive number of these potions. Even speaking from a PvE perspective, thirty seconds is too short and trivializes certain encounters.
Nothing wrong with pots and asking them to be removed Is more then silly. Pots are not going anywhere. It's even more important for warrior types to be able to pot up, there on timers so no big deal. A duel on the other hand Is something else and It's usually a unwritten rule not to use em In said duels.
it's not so much the potions but how powerful and hard to come by they are. 75% total health? thats ridiculous.
a lot of us got interested in this game because of the combat system and how "skill based" it is, and the potential of PvP due to this. but stuff like 50-75% potions (and many other things) greatly lessens the whole "skill based" aspect, and makes PvP, and therefor this game, much less attractive.
and it's really strange the completely different mind-set of this community compared to what I experienced in AOC. here everyone is all about these artificial advantages and the whole grind-to-win attitude. AOC had 3 tiers of potions that could be purchased at vendors, the top two tiers being SIGNIFICANTLY better than the bottom tier. yet, i cannot remember a single incident (~2 years of playing) where i saw someone use anything other than the bottom tier; no one did that crap. but it seems like in TERA, the majority of players are all for having these such advantages.
i guess it's just weird to me to see so few of people against this issue. it's hard to believe that anyone who calls themselves a PvPer would be in favor of these sorts of things. but i guess that's not how it is here.

On the topic of AoC potions...when I played, you could spam the HoT pots indefinitely, resulting in PvP fights that were like fighting with passive regen.

Pots in AoC had far less significance though. When a couple of level 20's can kill a 70 who cares about somebody busting out some pots.
Pots are part of every MMORPG and every PVP. Getting rid of them hurts the casual player leveling and questing. The casual player makes up for most of EME's subscribers which would cost EME money. So yeah
Play better or play even better using all resources around you. The thought saying ohh you didn't really win because you used pot's means nothing in the end your still dead and the person using the pot is alive.
No casual player is going to get mad that potions can't be used in PVP. If potions were PVE only not only would that make people not get health randomly but it would force them to have to play with healing classes in group pvp. If you still don't think that they are bad just look at their effect in duels. It's annoying enough to fight a lancer who blocks like crazy but if you actually manage to get him to 10%hp he still has his 100% potion left. In other MMOs that I've played most people just generally didn't use potions as a way of being courteous and those potions weren't as strong as the ones in Tera. That alone is enough grounds to restrict their use in PVP. Not to mention there are potions in ktera that have effects other than restoring HP/mana such as giving you attack speed or other effects not completely apparent.
The only 100% xp potions in the NA version from my understanding are given by GM's in that earlier player test.
The potions these people are crying about are from the EU/frogster version of the game.
So gtfo with your EU problems. There is a reason so many Euros are playing NA. Because that version along with frogster are horrible.
In the EU version you can buy 100% HP pots on 30 second cooldowns, XP pots, some amazing stat pots, HP and MP over time pots, etc. But they're all from the guild rewards vendor so provided you don't mind grinding out guild reward quests you can use them a lot. Are you saying the NA guild rewards vendor has nothing? Because that's basically the only thing listed on the guild rewards vendor in EU.
I can't remember but I'm going to guess yes they are untradeable. They also require Guild level 2 I believe which is something you have to maintain because Guild levels aren't permanent. I can't even remember if I checked the NA vendors. I feel like I did but you say they don't have them which is why I asked. It's hard to remember at this point what I've seen in NA and what I've seen in EU. It's just all blended together in the TERA section of my brain lol.
