Broken War abilities, Backstab + DFA

So warriors suck, I went after a pvp flagged sorc for about 30 minutes today. Even levels, gear within 3 pts.

Backstab, says it stuns, I even have it glyphed for increased duration, works less than 50% of the time.

All a sorc has to do is root you and take off 50% of your health while you try to catch them all day with busted stuns.

Why can't I cast Death From Above while rooted? What the hell, almost all of my other skills seem to be usable, except this one ability. Doesn't it take skill to time your 2 seconds of invulnerability to coincide with their 50% of your hp blast that basically one shots you. Why can't I cast it?

Sorcs also have a mana shield which blocks around 7k damage at 47, so what the hell....if backstab does happen to work for stunning the target at least 50% of my burst is absorbed by their shield and I get to go back to being kited.

I dueled warriors for over 8 hours yesterday. Their backstab landed everytime and they were able to do 30+k damage for that duriation to me as a slayer. They do not suck by any means.

When fighting a sorc the key is not rushing in first thing. Wait for them to place their aoe's and keep your distance. Make them come to you. once they do, dash and backstab. Finish dps and then get out of their range quick while you wait for cooldowns. Then repeat this method once more to win the match. I almost never lost to a sorc this way. If they do root then just use your jump evasive skill to cancel their next attack. You have 2 evasive skills, use them.

@Valoran - You are a slayer, much different from a warrior. Your burst is significantly bigger, and you have many reliable stuns. If you're fighting sorcerers who are unable to root you, than they are bad.

I don't know much about slayers, but if you have an ability to remove root you have a step up on warriors. And you did read the post correct? I am UNABLE TO USE my 2 evasive skills WHILE ROOTED. Thanks for playing.

edit : Sorry it seems I failed to post I'm unable to use my roll while rooted also, I assumed this would be obvious.

Yeah I dont quite understand why warriors do not have a consistent ability for CC, no way to slow (mangle doesn't really count, great in pve, not very usable in pvp...unless that you feel like dying for a 3 sec or less slow), and the only stun, is not reliable, because far to often it is resisted and or/ unable to be used because there was a pebble in the road that makes my warrior just slash at nothing and put ability on CD. @Valoran, yah, dont compare your damage vs warrior damage. You are all burst, with knockdowns, and stuns...Your single hits hit SUBSTANTIALLY much harder...Warrior is sustained damage and very little burst damages, that backstab MUST work for a warrior to have any pvp damage output, cause that target must be still for a moment. Imagin if the casters sleep was as buggy as the warriors BS, god would the forums be full of [filtered]ing...And rightly so, they NEED that ability, just like the War NEEDS his.

I never said sorcs were unable to root me. You do understand you can still use skills (except the ones that make you move forward) even while rooted right? Sorcs will use their slow pink ball shot skill on you while you are rooted. When you see it coming just use your jump in the air evasion skill to dodge it. Our burst is not significantly bigger than a warrior. Read what I actually posted. "Warrior backstab for 8 seconds and do 35k hp damage."

Also, no we do not have a skill to cancel cc's when they are put on us. Yes our dps scales maybe 25% more than a warriors. But a warrior is more tanky, has 30% more hp, has a higher crit rate, has more stuns, their stuns last twice as long as ours, and can do 5-6 skills before the stun wears off (slayers can only use 1 skill to follow up on before ours wears off). You have way more cc than slayers do which is what I use to beat sorcs. Sorcs should be easy for you. Just duel them until you can learn your class and beat them. Keep in mind what I said about waiting for the right moment to initiate.

Dude read what I wrote.

The backstab dosent work....lol.

haha, If there is any slight variation to the terrain, the skill might as well be non existent. And yeah SUBSTANTIALLY harder single hits. Example instant hit from slayer can be up past 30k...instant, from one move on a double hit ( idont know the name of ability, just the results from combat log). Warrior has nothing remotely close to that, maybe the cyclone...which requires 5 combo points or more...Which is NOT likely in pvp, especially if BS dosent work! Yeah, I dont konw about the survival thing that the other guy is talking about....I dont really have an issue with that. I can out live almost anyone, but I cant kill anyone either tho. And you were NEVER stunned for 8 sec from a Backstab lol, thats just not true. The BS ability MIGHT if glyphed last 3 secs. Take away 2 of those sec while we wait for the camera to fix itself...

okay say it with me now:
counterstrike = 1 stun
backstab = 2 stun
battlecry = 3 stun

1... 2... 3!!!!!!!

Glyph your backstab to increase duriation for 50% and it does last 8 seconds. Not only do i have fraps of this from yesterday but here is a nice video for you to watch :)

Maybe @ 60? And if so thank god, but at 47 Backstab lasts all of 2 seconds even glyphed...So if you're getting stunned for 8 seconds it's not from backstab, and that's only IF backstab works.

LOL your video is for PVE, the backstab doesn't work that long in pvp, go play one and prove me wrong. Plus you have to be auto attacked for Staggering counter to work, it's a "counter".

Still can't use DFA while rooted.

I didn't say that was my video. I said "Not only do I have fraps from yesterday, BUUUUUT here is a video for you to watch." When I get home I will post my fraps and from there you can judge.

I will also post the fraps of how I lost against a sorc and what I changed to win.
