Disparity of Battlefield Control Between Classes

That warrior video made me want to cry. The part where he took on 3 players at once, killed them all, and also killed 2 more people that joined in...

I seriously laugh hard when I think of a Sorc attempting the same thing.

Edit: Oh, and the parts where he takes on Sorcs is quite telling. You can see just how futile that matchup is. The Sorcs have absolutely no chance.

Yea Mortred is a damn good warrior, and I have only beat her a fews times, all before she learned the rotations and things to completely shut me down. After she learned all that.... Yea GG.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for everyone else in this thread the difference between a Group without a sorc, is that group only has to peel for one character. The healer. Leaving 3 players to pressure and one to peel. Its an even fight, because you will also be pressuring there healer target swapping and the like.
Where as with the Sorcerer in a group, now you have to have two people peeling for two different people. Playing extremely defensively and hoping the other team over extends a bit in there pursuit of the healer or sorcerer. Or you can leave the sorcerer on there own, peel for the healer and hope to god you can down there healer or one of there group members before your sorc bites it. You won't beable to effectively peel for 2 people and do dmg all at the same time barring some drastic mistakes made by the opposing team.
There are way to many negatives to bringing a sorcerer to group PvP to counter act the one positive. Where as other classes have a bunch of positives, and only one or two negatives.
The bottom line is there are classes that are clearly OP (Slayer/Warrior *can't wait till they get block LOL what a joke). A few classes that are fine for the most part with maybe a few small tweaks(Priest/Mystic/Lancer/Bow), and two classes that clearly need some major attention and careful reworking (Sorc/Zerk). It's no coincidence that the 2 slowest playing classes with clunky gameplay do not fair well in face paced, chaotic pvp environment. [/quote]
Here is what I would like to see to bring Sorc and Zerk up to speed:
Sorc.
1. Give Flame Pillar a stun component.
2. Remove the shared cooldown between Backstep and Teleport Jaunt.
3. Make Mana Barrier scale and give it a flinch/interrupt immunity component.
Zerker. (take with a grain of salt, as my Zerker is only 54)
1. A small bit of autoaim on our strikes. Other melee classes get a huge area that their attacks work in, plus homing skills. Zerker strikes seem to require pinpoint accuracy.
2. Longer reach on strikes. For some reason, it just feels wrong to have my character swing a 10 foot long axe and have his hands placed halfway up the handle, limiting the range.
Not class specific, but please, for the love of god fix collision in PvP. Nothing like two melee standing inside of eachother swinging at nothing... This actually has a drastic effect on Lancer and Zerker blocking ability.
Oh, and regarding that Mortred video...
ROFL
I can't believe Vunak posts about how sorcs can only beat bad players and then posts a video of a warrior killing a lancer/priest/sorc trio while taking almost 0 damage.
Irony. LOL.
I don't think you understand what "irony" means.
I would love to see you fight Mortred bud... seriously. You would get fking destroyed.
A sorcerer would never be able to kill three people like that are in even gear like they were. The priest alone would negate all the dmg the sorcerer would do, and a sorcerer can't keep enough pressure to be able to pull off what the warrior did. Outside of an amazing crit on a fireblast that one shots the priest, it wont happen.
They were bad players no doubt. But it was more a video showing off the power a warrior has. The sorcerer later on got stunlocked up to [filtered] and didnt stand a chance and would have died within the stun, if the priest hadnt come and thrown a heal out.
I understand exactly what it means.
Vunak has spent the majority of this thread claiming that the only way sorcerers can beat other classes 1v1 is if the player behind the other class is bad. Then, as proof of how strong warriors are, he posts a video of a warrior soloing a trio of players, two of whom are playing the most survivable and strongest self-sufficient classes in the game.
If this isn't situational irony, I don't know what is.
I doubt it. I main a priest and have only ever lost a duel to a warrior one time - and that was only because I got cocky towards the end.
But wait - I'm pretty sure I can predict your response. Every warrior I've fought is bad. Right?
Math is not your friend is it.
Sorcerer can beat players when there bad 1v1.
Warriors can beat bad players 3-4v1. (players came back)
Hmmmmmm.....
No idea then. Was under the impression you were a warrior. Priests are OP in 1v1 with DR and reflect gear.
Look man, I really don't have any problem with you, but your argument just makes me roll. This is basically what you have been saying -
- If a sorcerer beats a slayer/warrior/lancer in a 1v1, then that means the slayer/warrior/lancer was bad.
- If a sorcerer loses to a slayer/warrior/lancer in a 1v1, then that means the sorcerer class is bad.
Do you honestly not see the problem with this kind of logic? You're trying to create a situation in which you are ALWAYS the winner.
Or perhaps you completely jumping around the in between.
The effort a sorcerer has to put in to win those situations is about 4-5x more then a warrior/slayer or lancer have to put in to win in those situations.
So barring huge mistakes a sorcerer should not win against those classes. It doesn't mean the player is bad, did he play bad that round. Yes. But the player made some drastic mistakes and the sorcerer was able to take advantage of them. Where in the case a slayer/warrior or lancer don't have to rely on the sorcerer to make mistakes to win that fight. The sorcerer could play perfectly and still lose.
There is nothing reliable about the sorcerer class. Gyre gets resisted out the [filtered] now that people are starting to get there Nexus gear (and even before the gear). Mindblast gets resisted quite a bit for the same reasons. Those two skills are what allow us to do our dmg in PvP. Dont bring up lightning trap. Its to slow and can be easily negated by a simple jump.
Where as a slayer/warrior can backstab onto a target. It doesn't matter if there root/stun hits they have closed the gap they needed in order to do there dmg.
It should be harder for melee to close the gap on kiters then it is for kiters to create distance on melee. Right now its the opposite.
Is this not saying something here though.
No im a Priest so I would win.
This should never be the case. More so in Tera thats advertised as a "skill based" game. Those warriors should have a chance against you. As I should have a chance against them. Archers should have a chance against Lancers. But unfortunately thats not how it sits right now and you just admitted as much.
