ETA on Open World PvP Details?

I have people who are looking to join TERA Online for the BAM killing, and who are completely uninterested in the concept of open world PvP. The community was told that details on how owPvP was coming soon and now that pre-orders and beta invites are less than two weeks away they are really anxious to hear the details.

Is there any chance these details will be available before CBT1?
Or can we simply get the yes or no if players will be able to opt-out of owPvP on PvE servers?

Yea a detailed ruleset for Pvp servers would be awesome. I do hope such servers are unrestricted.

Excellent question:) ...Don't get me wrong, I love PVE content.. but a world without the potential for player conflict... the only conflict that can truly push a player, group, guild to its limit, would be a shame. I'm looking forward to TERA for its new system of action game-play, the political player driven mechanic, and of course its beautifully rendered graphics and characters. I've been waiting a long time for an MMO to take a chance and step outside the easy-mode gameplay worlds and give serious gamers a home. I can only hope this is it.. and I say that balanced pvp is definitely a part of that vision. Even with the potential grit that can come with such a mechanic. It's the struggles we endure reaching for the top that make us stay after all:)

Rambling aside, I'm looking forward to hearing an answer to your question:)

Yea, World PvP is completely necessary. One of the things that makes most games succesful, always having to look over your shoulder to check if anyone is after you. Would be cool if it were related to "guilds" or maybe you create a "rival/friends" list.

Yeah I have 5 friends who aren't going to order till you give out details on PVP. I'm sure there are plenty other in this boat as well. Don't worry though I have faith you already have my money.

Yeah I would like to know as well. I know in other versions the 10 second rule still applies, unless it was patched recently? I understand the need for a cooldown so people can't charge their skills, select PK and then poke people from behind.

There is no edit button so I'll have to double post.

I think an area where open world PK'ing/PvP is enabled would be okay. A map or a specific area of a map would be okay since I know there's a lot of people who would enjoy this, myself included.

seriously though guys, It's been said before that we will have specific beta's pertaining to the pvp rulesets, so don't expect it to be the very first beta. RELAX.

The 5/10 second rule was removed sometime late last year. There was quite a lot of celebrating when that news was brought to us. Instead, they replaced it with some sort of token system. Where you could purchase the tokens from an npc to change to a pk status, which made all other players valid attack-able targets (aside from guild members and party members). This is all based off of what I read on the old forums, and might be a little bit off of what the system is in place right now though, so don't take it for 100% facts except that the declaration system is gone.

An official response as to what the rulesets are would definitely be nice. Or at least what they're aiming them to be if we don't have too much to work with in the first few betas.
