Well the way theyre allowing OWPVP to still happen is having the bgs on timers. If you cant bg when the timers arent running, then you have to OWPVP which means it is definitely still there for people that want to pvp to just pvp and dont require a reward for doing so.

AKA: there will be no OWPVP.

if there is enough hate between players on the server there will be OWPvP

there doesn't even need to be hate. some people like myself just like to pvp because it's fun.

I'd almost say I'm fine w/ a weekly bonuses... i.e. the first 10 wins give you double points...but you DO NOT WANT caps on these things... what you get is people logging on to do them and then not logging on until the next one... i.e. in wow when everyone logs on to arena cap monday/tuesday night and doesn't log on again until next monday/tuesday.

or non wow examples being aion... people log on to do dredgions and then log off/log onto an alt.

Yes because in wow BGs have no limit people are just BGing over and over. If there was only arena, no BGs, without the LFD thing, without flying mount, and with some stuff to do outside of the city / instance, like quest that you must do to farm gold or some gear in Open world. Then there would be open world pvp in wow. Because people are still playing more than 2 days a week if you didn't noticed yet... but everything else than arena that worth it is still from a queue from the town.

If there is arena i'd like if it was open world arena, so you have to GO there by yourself unless than just queueing, and then queue there , and watch other people fight waiting your turn, or even turn outlaw and kill people around the arena area xD

I don't think over half the Tera population wants BGs though (preys to God). Most people are sick and tired of them and have realized from the last couple MMO's (that have failed miserably), that BG's are boring now-a-days. Anyone who disagrees is a fool. The people who want them will only be playing Tera for a little while anyway, then they will go back to WoW. If they HAVE to implement BG's put a cap on them per day. This way people will actually have to come out of town to play rather than standing in town waiting on a queue and making Chuck Norris jokes.......

If you capped BGs then it would promote people to have hardcore premades. Pugs would be pointless and it would skew the gear to much towards a certain player base. It sounds like the gear means everything so that would be a bust.

I think PvP gear ruins games, along with BGs. To bad either are around. There can be enough gear found in PvE that works better for either PvE or PvP, without making up PvP specific stats. PvP gear will always be tailored more towards resists/burst dps/endurance. PvE relies on different stats normally. You don't need a special PvP only stat assigned to gear that you only get through PvP mini games that end up being a grind.

Real PvP = territories, buffs, rank systems, recognition, control over PvE areas, a splash of PKing that yields some coin (possibly an item of your choice off player), etc.

When you have PvP like this there will be rivals and interesting open world PvP across all skill/level ranges. From the level 15's fighting over a hunting area to a couple guilds fighting over a Boss.

I don't care either way as far as pvp gear goes. I can see the logic behind wanting and not wanting it and I can't say that I think one is better than the other.

The one thing I can honestly say that sucks is that you can only get this gear from BGs so owpvp becomes a waste of time.

I think adding repeatable quests where you can obtain these same tokens you get in BGs by killing mobs in the open would be a good way to promote owpvp. The rate of gain would be slower than what you would gain in the same amount of time in a BG but would be decent enough that you would want to be outside farming them and getting into fights while you wait for your BG to start.
