Given that Guild Wars 2 is trying to be recognized as a e-sport would there be an effort by the blue hole and en masse to see if they can get some mileage out of that route with Tera. I know some extra money probably could be grabbed by this and it will add attention to the game as well. And since it's an action MMO skill can very much be a thing. Also I think this can also put pressure to keep the game as tight as possible too. (It would frown upon too much RNG that can make the game on the whole a lot better)

What you guys think on this?

1. Korean games never got to the balancing point where it would be even close to e-sport friendly.
2. A game that involves 1 shotting opponent / KD to death is really not very skill friendly.
3. Again, there were tons of korean mmos, none of them balanced their pvp features ever, and i've never seen a spell mechanic change because it was considered poorly designed in K-game, just number tweak, and most of the spells are poorly designed in these mmos.

Look at TERA right now, look at TERA back in korean beta, what changed ? Absolutely nothing. Warrior were hybrid fails, archer were bad, berzerker were bad, slayer were op, all of this remains after 1.5 year. I would love this game to become balanced and go on the e-sport field, it's just not gonna happen.

Dungeon Fighter Online has tournaments in Korea and it had a pretty decent following down there they made a pretty penny off that game.
And as fro what changed from K-tera?Plenty has change their have been some interesting changes. Sure not really pvp focused but they can fix that quite easily.

What absolutely love if the game went in the direction. The game's exposure would triple. PvP/E-sport support from the devs is the only reason I'll be playing Guild Wars 2, Tera's combat system is so unique, I'd love to see it in a structured competitive element.

Just take the 5v5 BG, switch it to elimination, add a rating/ladder system, there you go. 3v3 would be cool too! Doesn't necessarily need to be Elimination, objective based gametypes could be interesting as well.

I'm actually trying my best to get something started like this here. I sent a ticket to EME in hopes of a response and will have the prizes and such needed to boost this if it can happen. We'll see what can happen ;).

I forgot one point : MMOs are not fitted for e-sport, wow proved it and is now completly out of the serious e-sport.

I would hate for the current build of Tera to become an E-Sport. That is not to say that game companies shouldn't have "companion" games Like Tera-Sport or something of the sorts, that is similar in nature to Counterstrike; where people join a game that only goes x minutes or until 1 person is standing.

Don't turn an MMORPG into a sport. The fantasy and role-playing aspects of the game are why I am here, not to have a High School football game (aka e-sport). Personally I love games like Shadowbane and EvE that have asset destruction and the true game is taking away property. I'm here in Tera to see how the political side of the game goes.

Thankfully the battle system is not wow and with 3 small changes we can actually get something of worth here. Remove RNG, proper spectator mode and somebody who can interface with the community.
And I seprate e-sports from sports it should just be called competitive gaming. Because unlike real sports any yahoo can get to a point where they are serious. And when I say e-sports it would mainly be in the battle grounds.

I hate calling competitive gaming "esports". That said, I would love to see Tera reach a point where it is played on a competitive level. I think it's totally possible, though I would compare it more to the Fighting Game Community than I would, say, MLG.

That term e-sports sounds lame and it mainly points to one group of players. The FGC model would work if it were more LAn than how it is now but with a few changes can give both angles a good look
