How is PVP in Tera Online?

I was wondering about it, because I am kind of a mix between PVE and PVP, when PVE gets boring, I jump onto PVP

So I was wondering, is it laggy at all? I heard you have to aim and stuff, so I could see how that could affect it more than other traditional MMO`s. Is it somewhat balanced? Open word PVP fun?

I believe that the PvP in this game is very engaging, fun, and balanced - despite what many people say.
Then again, I do believe that fair PvP is CURRENTLY difficult to find, has no point, and is a little laggy at times.
One thing that's been frustrating me a bit is when your enemy is 7 feet facing the other direction hitting you with melee attacks. Sometimes it never happens in a PvP fight and sometimes it does. When it does the results CAN be the difference between a win and a loss. As a Berserker, I put a lot of force into ONE attack, and I obviously aim where my enemy is displayed on the screen. Less than 4% of the time, even though I clearly hit the enemy, I don't hit them due to the [filtered] FRUSTRATING [filtered] LAG. In some cases, I lose after that [filtered].
It's difficult to find fair PvP because when you find someone and outlaw, piles of random people start doggy-styling your [filtered] and you end up dead in a 2+v1 50-60% of the time. Outlawed players are almost non-existent.
However, GvGs are really nice because most of the time, the fights are fair (unless guilds travel in groups) because random people can't ruin your fight unless they outlaw like douchers.
The second worse thing about PvP (maybe first - contending with the small amount of lag) is the lack of point. There is NO reward WHATSOEVER for PvPing. Plus, if you die as an outlaw, you lose crystals, so PvP is kind of discouraged at the moment.

I'm just waiting for future PvP content atm - like BGs, SvS, and more. This promised future content will fix PvP and make it mostly fair and much more engaging. Also, it will be rewarding to do so.
But a LOT of people, including myself, are really wishing for rewards for OWPvP. You will find plenty of forums with people talking about solutions for OWPvP, and with the vast amount of people complaining and arguing about it, I'm fairly sure En Masse will add a reward to encourage OWPvP. If they don't, it will make us very, very sad. :(

So when I encounter players and fight them FAIRLY, I have a LOT of fun. Fair PvP is amazing in this game. The classes are balanced despite what others say.

There is a little divarication in potential between some classes in 1v1's but this is a rpg mmo and you should expect that. Group pvp is fine and fun. It is intended for guild vs guild not player vs player IMO.
I don't really care about the cuddly idea that all classes are created equal, it's simply not a reality, when you have varying classes on any game they will each have their own unique advantages and disadvantages, some more than others and they always will despite any skill in their development. Pick a class you like and have fun!

The PvP is extremely fun. But as for the two posters above me have said about balance. This game is [extremely unbalanced] come endgame. And is one of the reasons Blue Hole took BG's out for fixing.

If you want to be well rounded in PvP (group v group and 1v1) Slayer, Warrior, or Lancer.

Healers are healers and are not really affected. They both perform well in group situations because they are healers and in solo situations with the right crystals and gear you can out heal dmg and watch opponents kill themselves on you through reflect gear.

If you want to be gimped in both applications of PvP roll a Archer, Berserker or Sorcerer.

It needs to be balanced more then it is. I agree, you can't create a perfect balance. But the disparities with the first two lists compared to the last is huge.

Actually, I totally forgot about Priests and Mystics.
These are the two classes endgame that make PvP unbalanced. They are the best kiters AND they get quick little heals + infinite mana on top of that.

LOL? I do not feel gimped at all on my Archer. Are slayers and warriors rough fights 1v1? Sure, but they sure in the hell aren't god mode. In group pvp, I lay the smack down on people, large scale and small scale. Berserkers and Sorcs are hands down one of the better group pvp classes in the game. I feel like we're playing a completely different game.

Mystics have infinite mana, you're trolling right? The mystic's mp regen aura DOES NOT WORK ON THEM, EVEN IF IT DID THE 20MP/s IT GIVES WOULDN'T DO THE MYSTIC ANY GOOD WHEN MOST OF THEIR SKILLS COST 500MP+.

in group pvp all classes have a place to shine, zerkers and archers might be lacking a bit but not as much as some would like to make people think and sorcerers are very good who ever cant perform as a sorcerer needs to practice more
