I played a Lancer in the CBTs and quickly grew to love the class. (Which is strange since I never play tanks in any MMORPG since I'm usually the Healer but found them very fun).

Though how would one go about PvPing as a Lancer? Their selling point is the ability to block almost all damage with their shield but aside from that the actual damage is quite horrendous. I know we have stuns and pulling skills but in a 1v1 situation it seems like the fight would take a long time lol. And what about Mass PvP situations? I'm just looking for tips/advice that is all since I plan on rolling Lancer as my main.

In 1v1 lancer is kinda the best class because you can still do decent damage and can almost perma-knockdown / stun.

For group PvP (like 3-5people) Lancer will be useful mostly for his knockdown and stuns. As a healer i can tell you the lancer is the class i gotta worry the most. With their charge and their pull they can get me easily if i don't pay attention enough, and once a lancer touch you, often you just can't get away because knockdown, stun, knockdown, knockdown, stun, stun, stun, knockdown, death.

For mass PvP (30v30 kind) i saw that the lancer was mostly use to stay in front line and block damage. This video i found on youtube of a lancer might help you to see how its look likes xD

From in depth videos I've watched, a well played warrior is going to be the best pvp class. Emphasis on well played. Slayers are going to have far more knockdowns than lancers do. The stuns are quite nice from what I've seen and leash is great for group pvp. Someone pounding on your healers? Pull em away and pound on the guy yourself. You're not going to do much damage. Your primary job is going to be to keep other people from doing damage to your team.

Again, this is based on many videos I've watched, not personal experience.

From what I've seen/heard The best lancer will beat the best *insert class*

In group PVP you're basically there to CC/peel and generally be a massive pain in the [filtered] IMO.

Lancer 1v1 can do decent damage. A typical shield bash/onslaught combo can chunk some one for around 50 percent of their health with good gear. I have done it at 38 and seen it done at 58
in ktera.

In group pvp you perform 1 of 2 roles. Either your the main assist locking down targets for your dps, or you are the squishy/healer guardian cc and peeling the enemies. At 56 you get a guard like ability redirecting a portion of dmg from groupmates around you to yourself that aids in thus role.
