Instanced PvP...

So, does anyone else think objective based instanced PvP would be great in this game? Capture the flag, hold a location, hold an item etc...

I think a healthy combination of objective PvP and Arenas (what battlegrounds curently are as far as we know without the changes they are making) would do wonders for the PvP community. Adding just arenas would be a welcome addition, but not quite enough.

Current battlegrounds, were only 5v5 if I remember correctly. Seeing 3v3 and 5v5 with 3-4 objective battlegrounds would be like a dream come true.

OWPvP is pretty nice as is and has a healthy set up for it. The simple fact you can attack anyone at anytime (not, oh im in my factions zone and I can't find anyone of the other faction to kill) open world bosses, BAMs and GvG creates a great environment for OWPvP.

Anyway, anyone else agree? Do you think objective based instanced pvp would work in tera? If you think it's a bad idea, why?

I would support instanced pvp as long as a few critera were met:

Only open at certain times of the day.
Required premade
No "Arena", or if one a minimum of 5v5, no less

What does twinks have to do with anything? That doesn't even make sense. Just because wow had instanced PvP doesn't mean they are the only ones to do it, or that it was a bad idea. Way to back up your opinion with anything worthwile. Guess Durrhurr is a fitting name, herp derp.

imo, we need an organized system to allow players to pvp when they want. Without that I know I will be looking for a new game.

Allowing people to only do BG's a limited number of times a day, or only at certain hours wont work. This game has players in how many time zones? People all have different schedules. Also limiting people ability to play the game the way they want is limiting choices. Not a good idea for marketing.

If you want Tera to suceed, and judging by some peoples posts I'm pretty sure a few of the forum trolls don't, you need to have a game that appeals to more than just a limited PvE crowd. I say limited because Tera doesnt have large scale raids yet, and I know some guilds wont choose this game to play because of that fact.

*correction there are no BGs in Tera. I don't know how many times people on the forms need to tell you but they are not and they are not in KTera ether. There has been nothing about them since Bluehole took them out and EME is probably like BlueHole I very much doubt that BGs with be put in Tera at all. Probably the only thing Tera will see for PvP is probably by the end of this year the server vs server vs server will be in KTera. This will be great and all, but it will not be tested and probably as buggy and unbalanced as the rest of Tera do to the fact that Koreans do not PvP. This is way the PvP that is in Tera right now is a joke. I could see EME making some kind of PvPvE thing that is insistence based, but seeing that those "new" dungeons that they made them selves are down right unplayable, what ever they make will be just as bad if not worse do to EME's lack of understanding of PvP.

Oh and to the people that think Arena's kill PvP. That is only in WoW. If they are done right, this in being not having a PvP only stat and only have PvP gear that just cost more currency and not needing a higher rank to be able to get. Arenas can be a great place to show case players skill. Tho Arenas should only be 3v3 and/or 5v5.

I'm not sure how you think there will be no BG's at all when EME has stated months ago that they will be out at the end of the summer?

Actually blizzard came right out and said instanced pvp was one of there worst idea's. Herp derp. Not to mention any game that has instanced PvP has failed on the PvP front.

And for everyone saying BG's are in for TERA. They aren't. They even got ripped out of the K.Tera version because they didn't fit in well with the systems of the game.

If you look at the most recent road map for K.Tera there isn't one ounce of mention of BG's. Its all about SvS, Server invasions and the new floating city territory control features.
