So quick question, if this game is claiming skill oriented combat, then why the [filtered] is there a "Lock On' mechanic?

You still have to move your target retical over them to lock it on and then fire it with the double tap.

Not like blind tabbing until you see the right name pop up...

Lock-on is broken mechanics added to game... I guess same as all other absurd for balance other absurd.

Long time ago, when Tera was perfect material for game what was able to dethrone even WoW - I talk about K-alpha and FGt version. Tera was 100% no-target game. We did not had any lock-on. If archer aimed at target, after release arrow target was still able to dodge without any skills but just WSAD on keybord.

But what happened. Archers community (the bigger cryers in all MMO - even if they have most OP class in all MMO they are still cry) as always cry for something. It was 2 things:
1) Archer had only 15m range
2) They cry because korean players was not able to have 100% hit rate in a row.

Ofc testers agree 15m range was to low. But almost nobody supported idea of aim assist for archers. But it seems it was not issue for developers and they implement it.

Also in same time they had next issue - how to implement heal skills in no-target game. AoE and lock-on was obvious answer.

And now I can only guess what they thought. But I can deduce they implement lock-on to PDS skills and CC skils for balance it to archers what got aim assist (used one absurd for balance another absurd). And this way they f***d perfect system what they had 3 years ago.

I do not try say current system is bad, but that is only shadow of perfection presented in first versions of this game.

Can I have an AI algorithm that redirects my melee swings so that they can always hit perfectly.

Can I also have a mechanic that automatically picks which attack is the best for the situation and repeats the combo.

Would it be to much to ask for a mechanic that automatically acquires the next quest and completes it until lvl 60.

I want welfare game play.

just fix the spead of range so it actualy hits the target in the crosshair when u shoot. [filtered] is so slow u can dodge everything thrown at u just by constently running and making sure u don.t run into it..

Seriously? You are worried about lock-on skills? If you have problems beating those classes, then I don't know what to say. Archers and Sorcerers are already so gimped at PvP, that anyone who beats you is not just better at PvP than you, but much better. Mystics and Priests are hard, only because they take forever to kill.

How about we turn every melee swing into a lancer-like thrust where only the target in the cross-hairs gets hit?

By the way, I play a slayer, who thinks lock-on skills are necessary for the ranged classes to have any hope against melee classes in this game.

Remove Lock on
Remove the Movement Lock crap
Reduce cooldowns on sprints
Allow charging of abilities while moving
Remove Reflect
Allow animation cancelling = Some attacks, after the damage section, will have this stupid [filtered] animation for resetting to the default battle stance . This forced animation that i wish i could just stop and start the next damn attack.

This will introduce a true "skill" gameplay and not "let the game play for you" crap that SOOOOO many games go for.

Give ranged some more "OH [filtered]!!!" buttons, but dont make them less player controlled.
