New Rules are Horrible!!!

They seem perfectly fine to me.

You do know that kTERA has been using this rule set for a while now right? (far harsher penalties though and can't PK as early as 11)

kTERA PK ruleset

Outlaw system:
on lvl58 with a special quest you can obtain a new skill with which you can declare yourself as an Outlaw and can attack everyone/get attacked by everyone. This is system is point based as well which I find a bit puzzling at the moment and there are some explicit rules for "notorious" outlaws, once you are an outlaw you have to work your way out of this status. By default the score decreases by 1 every 5 minutes, you can also decrease your outlaw points by killing mobs: -1 point/mob.

1-100 points: minor penalties (condition depletes a bit faster, 2x chance crystals brake, unable to benefit from rest exp)
100-1000 points: medium penalties (condition depletes faster, 3x chance crystals brake, attack power decreased by 50%, movement speed by 15%, unable to benefit from rest exp, teleporter and pegasus cannot be used)
1000+: major penalties (condition depletes extremely fast, 5x chance crystals brake, power decreased by 90%, defense by 75%, movement speed by 30%, teleporter and pegasus cannot be used)

Yea and it only applies to players 6 levels below you, which is fine.

Now all they need to add now is outlaws have no protection in safezones.

If an outlaw is in safe zone trying to get rid of points, they're not going to be able to progress their character or be out and about causing havoc. It effectively removes them from the game (though not forcibly, it is their choice to stay in the safe zone)

I don't see why they would need to remove the safe zone protection from outlaws. Any outlaw that's hiding in town, after running rampant among the lowbies, because they don't want to die is going to get viciously mocked anyways. It is the PvP server after all

No outlaw would give a damn about being mocked.

They either need to be attackable in safezones or not allowed to enter them. They are Outlaws after all.

*points to poster above* Pretty much what he said, as it wouldn't stop people from killing lowbies relentlessly at lumbertown's entrance xD. They just abused the safezone so they couldn't be killed by people who wanted to do something about it. Hence why I think safezone protection shouldn't be handed to outlaws, they should be on the run for the crime they have done.

This system is fine. Nobody will want to wait it out in town because it takes so long to get it off that way. They would just to to a higher lvl area and try to work it out, with the risk of getting killed by same level players hanging around. 60 points is 60 same level mobs which don't take that long to kill.

I personally think this system is great

Ok then im fine with it, but again couldn't low levels use this to their advantage??

"If someone initiates combat with you they mark themselves as an outlaw, but you do not mark yourself as an outlaw. So no, you will not get infamy points for defending yourself.

-GM Tonka"

Ok nvm this answer all my concerns then.

In the end the high level has to kill the lower lvl for anything to happen. Technically it could be possible but what would be your defense? "he made me kill him"?.

Pretty much, the way i saw it was if a group of low levels start'd the fight with me and I'm defending myself I shouldn't get penalized.

If they're 6+ lower than you, I really don't think you have to worry about dying to them.

If lower levels go into outlaw and try to kill you, you don't get penalized for killing them.

You'll only be penalized if you go into outlaw mode and kill players 6 levels lower.
